Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The overwhelming use of force is being questioned after a chase in Florida ended in a deadly shootout with police. It started when two men, who the FBI said were already wanted for two similar heists near Miami, robbed a jewelry store and hijacked a UPS van. After a 23-mile chase, the officers opened fire when the gunmen shot at them, leaving drivers in rush-hour traffic panicked and scrambling. he two men who police said robbed the jewelry store were killed. But so was 70-year-old Richard Cutshaw, who was waiting in his car at the intersection. The UPS driver who was taken hostage, Frank Ordonez, was also killed.

but they won't do it again.... just rich liberals who have never been robbed... wishing for a Unicorn kinda world where everyday has a beautiful rainbow.

As for the robbers.... sorry boys....netter luck next life...only one life to a customer and you've pissed yours away....

Next time try lawyer, doctor, banker or stockbroker.... you can steal from people and they still call you a hero... with some serious butt kissing thrown in... Look at Hunter Biden... thrown out of the Navy for being a coke head and now he's doing OK (As long as Russia doesn't come to get the rest of Ukraine)...

Thanks Hunter, for showing and proving that being a Democrat and a Criminal is an excellent career choice...

I watched it live as a Miami news stations helicopter followed the chase. They even zoomed in the open truck door to show the UPS driver sitting on the floor of the passenger side of the truck during the chase. Heads are going to roll over this outcome. The jewelry was insured. The truck would run out of gas eventually. The bad guys could have run. Both have pasts and could have been identified from the security video and captured later. And to add insult to injury the dredges of society were setting up fake Go Fund Me accounts for the UPS driver within minutes after the shootout.

Only a good guy with a gun can kill innocent bystanders!

UPS employees are prohibited from possessing a weapon while they are working. UPS and FedX vehicles have been increasingly targeted by criminals, knowing that the drivers are unarmed.
While having a weapon may not have saved this Mr Ordonez life, I know that I personally would rather die with the choice of defending myself, rather than unarmed in a crossfire situation. He might have even saved Mr
Cutshaw and eliminated the shootout.

Were the killers polite?

Stupid cops still haven't learned to look the other way. Let the animals run the zoo, go for coffee and donuts.
Oh but then the ins company would have sued the cops for letting them go.

"UPS employees are prohibited from possessing a weapon while they are working."

Holler back when you're ready for a Constitution to protect us from corporations, as well as government!

You know that would be bad for business, right? Right.

What UPS allows, and what their drivers do, is between them. I was just pointing out that the weapon restriction is in place.
I do know that before my state allowed concealed carry, I was a criminal. It was my choice.
And I would bet that Mr Ordonez would prefer to be fired, and alive, today.

What? Did you guys want to put these cops in harms way?

Next time, they should use Apache Helicopters and shoot them from the sky, where they'd be safer.

What's a couple ordinary lives lost?

To better understand your inane perspective.

You didn't think your comment was insightful, did you?

That would be awkward.

Should criminals have their guns taken away?
I say yes.

I don't understand why the police didn't exercise tactical patience, recognize that a busy parking lot or a busy freeway is not the optimum location for a shootout in spite of what we see in the movies, tag their vehicle from the sky and confront them at a more convenient location. The robbers might have jacked the UPS truck no matter what, but at least one civilian would still be alive. The cops are very lucky more innocents didn't die. At the very least whoever was calling the shots needs to be demoted and likely fired.

Because they don't care about you or any other non-police person. Not really sure what their job is any more. It's certainly not protecting the public.

The inanity is his asking why I'm fine with it, when I neither said or referenced being fine with it. Snoofy games.
I think the hostage situation and resulting shootout was handled poorly.
