Former VP Joe Biden, in an interview with "Axios on HBO," promised to prohibit his son Hunter from cashing in on his name and position overseas in the future if he wins the presidency. Biden told Axios' Mike Allen that he has not dug into what Hunter actually did while working in Ukraine. "I don't know what he was doing. I know he was on the board. I found out he was on the board after he was on the board and that was it," Biden told us.
Asked whether he wants to get to the bottom of it, Biden said, "No. Because I trust my son."
Hunter, who had recently been discharged from the Navy for drug use, was hired by Burisma and paid more than $80,000 a month despite the fact that Hunter had no relevant experience. When Hunter was hired by Burisma, the company was mired in a corruption scandal and VP Biden was the point man on Ukraine for the United States.
For the record, Hunter seems like a candidate for the least trustworthy person in the entire world. Hunter hooked up with his brother's widow, fathered a child behind her back and denied the baby was his.
He also was discharged from the Navy when a police report found "a small white and brown pipe approximately 3-4 inches long," in his rental car with credit cards, a driver's license, a Delaware attorney general badge, a cellphone, and a U.S. Secret Service business card. An officer also found "a small ziplock bag with a white powdery substance inside all sitting on the passenger seat with Robert Biden's drivers license, AG badge and credit cards."
Fingerprinting was inconclusive on the bag and pipe and no charges were filed.
