North Korea has ridiculed President Donald Trump once again -- this time calling him a "heedless and erratic old man." ... In a Monday statement, a senior North Korean official, former nuclear negotiator Kim Yong Chol, said: "As [Trump] is such a heedless and erratic old man, the time when we cannot but call him a 'dotard' again may come."

Are we headed towards another "fire and fury" showdown in the two lovers' spat?

How dare they!

The North Koreans have Donald as well figured out as the Russians have. Calling him names is just as sure a way to manipulate him as flattery.

The issue will never go away as long as we don't give NK everything they want. They see their nuke program as leverage. It's not about anything else. So they will continue to use it as leverage until they either get everything they want or we walk away.

@#5 ... The issue will never go away as long as we don't give NK everything they want. They see their nuke program as leverage. It's not about anything else. ...

That's pretty much what the diplomatic and military experts on North Korea have been saying from the very beginning.

Pres Trump had thought (is still thinking?) he could get a different outcome via a personal relationship with Leader Kim. All that got for the US was Pres Trump being gamed by Leader Kim into making concessions with nothing in return.

As you say, we will need to give NK everything they want.

The question is --- what do we get in return?

That is where negotiations come in. Real negotiations. The one-on-one love fest we have seen so far does not seem to be producing discernable movement towards a resolution of the issues.

Remember when Cons said they would make the world respect us? They never say that now.

No, the issue came up (or was at least amplified) by the fact that we DID give NK what they want. Trump scaled back military exercises with South Korea. He legitimized and boosted Un on the world stage. AND WE GOT NOTHING FOR IT.

So of course Un is continuing on trying to trigger Trump. Every time that Un has interacted with him NK has come out on top. He knows that the conservative president is weak, and is trying to get his attention. If he can get Trump to engage with him, he figures he can likely get one more big concession out of him before the voters kick Trump out of office.

Especially with impeachment going on, Trump is even more unhinged than usual (how many tweets did he send out yesterday?). And Trump is desperate for ANYTHING that he could possible spin to his gullible base as a win. Un is trying to get his mark to bite at the con, and he KNOWS (from experience) that Trump is an EASY mark.

Comrade Kim is voting Democrat in 2020. He's negotiated with appeasers like Bill Clinton and Obama before.

Please, explain to us what you think that Trump has ACCOMPLISHED with Kim while he has been in office.

Or do you just think the little orange snowflake should get a participation trophy for "trying"?

@#9 ... we DID give NK what they want. ...

That concession was only a portion of what NK wants overall. It was the first "transaction" between the two lovers.

Pres Trump gave, and got little or nothing in return.

#13 Seems pretty obvious what a bigoted turd like yourself thinks. But I am wiling to bet just about anybody else would have a thicker skin the trump. Most likely the next president will just ignore anything NK has to say about them personally. You know, the way an adult is supposed act.

The Norks got Trump to halt joint defense exercises with SK. SK has negotiated a joint defense agreement with China, not that the US has gone wobbly.

The Norks haven't apologized for killing an American student, haven't stopped missle tests. Haven't allowed inspectors. They have given nothing.

The truth is that donnie loves him some DICtator as his current daddy(ies) saved him from bankruptcy. Trump is giving away US policy goals in exchange for kickbacks.

@#16 ... Trump is giving away US policy goals in exchange for kickbacks. ...

Are you saying that Pres Trump, the President of the United States, would give away United States assets, policies and/or resources for his own personal gain?

#17 | Posted by LampLighter at 2019-12-09 04:24 PM | Reply

L'l Kim is just having fun stirring the pot again. It makes him look good to his adoring public.

Trump has more pressing issues to occupy his time. Giuliani has returned home from Ukraine with his fake "documentary" in the can. Or, as Trump calls it, a lot of evidence about Joe and Hunter Biden that he's sure will give him the big edge he needs to defeat Joe Biden in the general.

And he's probably right although I'm not sure how Trump plans to get it on a national cable network. Of course, Rudy is now anxious to testify at the Senate trial so maybe they plan to sneak it in that way.

Best bet is Trump will buy some TV time to get it aired. Trump will go full throttle on this scam.

"I thought these two we're in love??? According to Orange Julius they were pen pal lovers..."

Pen pal lovers???? . . . "According to Orange Julius??? (there's your first clue.)

All we ever saw was a folded piece of paper and Trump's "rendition" of a letter from Kim using the same words that Trump uses when he described himself.

While there's proof that flattery will get Kim anything he wants, there's absolutely no proof that Kim writes those very effusive letters Trump likes to wave around.

There's ever more proof that Trump is a pathological liar.

They need to meet in Pyongyang to have a peonwang contest to see which long dong won.

As the old Korean saying goes, "You can prepare for for the enemy before you, but the enemy in your mist is more deadly". Kim doesn't have to worry about the South invading the hermit kingdom. The Americans in South Korea are not much more than a speed bump. Internally he has bigger threats. His sources for funds to supply his parentage system has been cut off by the Chinese. Kim's execution of several high ranking party officials did not gain him any lasting security. See Kim Jun Un as what he is, a dead man walking.

" Kim's execution of several high ranking party officials did not gain him any lasting security. "

It didn't have to. But it did gain him lasting fear.

Dictators wouldn't be dictators if they didn't use fear.

When was the last time you ever heard of a "benevolent" dictator?
