Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

JUST AS WAS TRUE when the Mueller investigation closed without a single American being charged with criminally conspiring with Russia over the 2016 election, Wednesday's issuance of the long-waited report from the Department of Justice's Inspector General reveals that years of major claims and narratives from the U.S. media were utter frauds.

Before evaluating the media component of this scandal, the FBI's gross abuse of its power " its serial deceit " is so grave and manifest that it requires little effort to demonstrate it. In sum, the IG Report documents multiple instances in which the FBI " in order to convince a FISA court to allow it spy on former Trump campaign operative Carter Page during the 2016 election " manipulated documents, concealed crucial exonerating evidence, and touted what it knew were unreliable if not outright false claims.

FTA:

If you don't consider FBI lying, concealment of evidence, and manipulation of documents in order to spy on a U.S. citizen in the middle of a presidential campaign to be a major scandal, what is?

This is far, far worse than Trump's impeachable actions with Ukraine.

Get over yourself. Learn some history.

"Nearly every examiner in an elite FBI forensic unit gave flawed testimony in almost all trials in which they offered evidence against criminal defendants over more than a two-decade period before 2000," the newspaper reported, adding that "the cases include those of 32 defendants sentenced to death."

US admits FBI falsified evidence to obtain convictions

Launching an assault on the 2006 terror conviction of Lodi cherry picker Hamid Hayat, defense attorneys began playing video snippets of his recorded FBI interrogation in court Monday in a bid to show that Hayat was led into a false confession that sent him to prison for 24 years.

Learn some perspective -------. There are literally THOUSANDS OF CASES where the FBI broke the law in order to affect the outcome they wanted. The FBI has has ALWAYS done those things in their efforts to enforce laws against suspects. This time the suspect was involved in politics and THAT'S the only reason why politics is involved.

Tony,

If you can be bothered to actually read the embedded article you'll see that this is an institutional problem that happened to also be political as it pertained to Page. The article also rips media outlets for brining on retired members of the intelligence community as commentators.

I knew this thread would trigger some lefties. I didn't count you on the list of lefties whom I thought would knee-jerk react to this thread.

All of a sudden Jeff and ROC have morphed into SJWs, railing against abuses by THE MAN, drunk in their privileged beliefs that even in the dark LEO always operates in unquestioned fairness and "by the book".

Welcome to the real world. YES, root out corrupt people, but identify how corruption enters the process before damning those who operate inside it. Based on history (not conjecture and a one-off), it's the institutional processes without proper QC and oversight that allow corrupt practices to go unchallenged and not a cadre of individually corrupt people operating with their own personal agendas.

Mueller put two innocent men in prison for twenty years to protect the identity of a mob informant who was an assassin.

He's a monster. But this time even he knew he couldn't walk away from this one.

Any article that uses the term "FBI" as if it operates as a monolithic unit is garbage. No one in the hierarchy sat there intentionally creating a bureaucracy to be used for political purposes. It's a continuing insult. FBI personnel take their oaths seriously, and they'd absolutely violate it if they made their decisions on the basis of political instead of enforcement reasons.

You refuse to acknowledge that the goal was to allow the FBI to investigate a potential crime. They did not plant evidence. They did not coerce false testimony. When no evidence of criminality was found, they closed shop and went home. And they did all of this in confidentiality. These are not the foundations of a conspiracy to actuate a manipulated political result.

Systemically identify the problems, identify the flaws in the processes that allowed the problems to manifest, and fix them for the future.

OK, but if we are honest it is pretty clear it was used for political purposes as it pertained to Page and Papadapolous.

I'm gonna just leave this here, again:

[Nov 3. 2016]
"The FBI is Trumpland," said one current agent.
This atmosphere raises major questions about how Comey and the bureau he is slated to run for the next seven years can work with Clinton should she win the White House.

The currently serving FBI agent said Clinton is "the antichrist personified to a large swath of FBI personnel," and that "the reason why they're leaking is they're pro-Trump."

Between all of the documented abuses and failures vis a vis 3 different IG reports regarding the Clinton email criminal investigation, how Comey went about triggering the Mueller investigation and what we just learned from the IG report and testimony this week, Comey leaking the re-opening of the Clinton investigation due to what was discovered on Weiner's laptop in an unrelated investigation was an outlier.

ALL other abuses in these cases flowed in 1 direction. ALL of them.

IG report was nothingburger... no bias found.

But Rush and Hannity have the righties all in a froth over it because if you say the democrats conspired against some noname staffer enough..it magically becomes true and more important then anything else.

Don't worry..Durham has all ready tipped his hand and showed his bias...mid investigation.. crying g about IG report.

The IG report proved that the Carter Page investigation was not politically motivated.

It didnt find evidence that Trump raped and murdered little girls either.

All the IG found were some minor process errors by FBI coffee boys.

What a waste of taxpayer money.

The IG report proved that the Carter Page investigation was not politically motivated.

Wrong. It found no evidentiary or testimonial bias but that the answers that were given were unsatisfactory.

The IG agreed with Mike Lee that the only 2 plausible scenarios were gross incompetence or bias.

To make an accusation stick you need proof. The IG found none.
