By granting review of these cases now, the justices made it possible for them to be heard during the current court term.

This case really isn't about his financial records, they just happen to be what is being investigated.

The real issue the SCOTUS will decide is whether or not Trump - as sitting President - owns complete, absolute, and unquestionable immunity from not only indictment and prosecution, but even being investigated for acts he undertakes while in office.

Trump wants the court to rule that as President he is completely above oversight and demands of compliance by any body outside himself.

In all likelihood, SCOTUS will rule in favor of Trump.

If they don't, it'll open up a Pandora's Box for all politicians.

If they don't, it'll open up a Pandora's Box for all politicians.

That "Pandora's Box" has been open since long time ago, certainly as high as Congresspeople and Senators in cases of criminal and civil investigations by LEOs.

And why is that a problem? Politicians are "public servants" so if they want powers and "public trust" they are granted, they should welcome public scrutiny and accountability.

Those who aren't open to disclosures, or even lie about why they can't disclose it "now" (like "being under audit") definitely have something to hide and should not be allowed to be in the position to profit from a position of power... Public service should not be a profit center.

Open up a Pandora's box of investigating criminals for being criminals. Trump has been a mobster since forever.

Trump is hoping Beer Bong Brett was worth all the hassle.

Roberts has let it be known that he's not happy with the way Kavanaugh (Beer Bong Brett) was shoehorned into the Supreme Court. As I see it, Kavanaugh still has to earn his creds with Roberts. That means Kavanaugh will do whatever Roberts tell him to do (at least on matters of great importance) before the training wheels come off.

In other words, don't tug on Superman's cloak.
