Federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson took several minutes during her sentencing of top Mueller cooperator Rick Gates on Tuesday to comment on the Russia investigation, the significance of Gates' choice to cooperate and the gravity of the facts that investigators found regarding Gates' and Paul Manafort's crimes and Russian's interaction with the Trump campaign.

'If people don't have the facts, democracy doesn't work'

Which is why Trump has stonewalled Congress on all the facts those people and those documents could give them... and the American people.

Something not even Tricky Dick Nixon did; his Chief of Staff and others testified before Congress.

He's working through the courts like every President before him.

Doc is incorrect.

Doc has no idea how the mind works.

To believe you are a rational being, that relies on facts, is to deny the FACT of how the brain processes information, and makes decisions.

What an incredibly stupid, partisan, and naive thing to say. It's like people think that politics only started when the Information Age (or Misinformation Age as it should be named) came about. The same deals Trump was trying to make are the same deals foreign leaders have made behind closed doors for centuries. It's like people actually think corruption didn't exist before the Internet.

In fact, and this is going to make hate-filled partisan people go nuts, one could logically deduce that facts themselves are hurting our Democracy. Our Democracy is a shell of what it has been in the past 2+ centuries and corruption has existed the whole time. But now that we know about so much more corruption due to technology, all of a sudden Democracy doesn't work. So, technically, because we can be aware of more facts, it is causing more problems than it is fixing/helping. If you don't agree then you are saying that our Democracy is the same or better today than it has been in the past 2+ centuries. I can't agree with that but if that's your opinion then I can at least respect it.

Something Democrats have always maintained: Don't count the illegals in the census.

Thanks for posting that.

One is entitled to their own opinion, but they can't have their own facts. Facts are just what they are.

Not true. Pre-NAFTA, the Dems represented the labor unions (non-SIEU) that were anti-illegal immigration because they knew that illegal immigrants suppress wages. Now, the Dems want to cheat in the census by not counting illegals - they want everyone to just be assumed to be a citizen so:

1.) The US population never knows the size of the problem (refer to the title of this thread)
2.) They know that counting illegals will result in NY, CA, and Illinois losing huge numbers of EC seats.

Pssst

Here's something else they will also know, George H.W. Bush drafted NAFTA and Bill Clinton signed it into law. There's only one interpretation, they both felt like it was a good idea. No matter if you're a good republican soldier or a solid leftist, they're both the same on that issue. They bankrupt Detroit and Pittsburg. Either way, its now the norm. ----- the globalists. and that includes Trump.

Trump promised to bring back Pennsylvania's coal, steel and energy jobs. But can he?

But while Trump has promised to hammer foreign competitors in China and tear up unfavorable trade deals, Sevin Yeltekin, an associate professor of economics at the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon, said that won't necessarily mean more jobs here.

"In a nutshell, no, those jobs are not coming back. But it's not because of only China or NAFTA or any of that stuff. It's because a lot of the low-skill to medium-skill jobs have been replaced by machinery."

"It's not just outsourcing. They're much more likely to have lost those jobs due to technological advancements."

This is a half-truth at best. If it was due to majority mechanization, we would not have a boom in manufacturing jobs in China. So, stop lying unless you want to argue those Chinese works are machines. Second, Trump puts a nail in that coffin based on actual results since he took office. Manufacturing jobs added since his election are 4x what Obama added. Again, if it is all about machines, we would never see a rise again.

The truth is that fracking driving lower energy prices, fairer trade deals, and regulatory reform has brought back jobs - that is not just a 'gut feel', that is the statistical FACT.

We agree that the Dems don't want to count them - they want to assume everyone living in the US is a citizen and thus used to dictate EC votes.

How American steelmakers have survived " without Trump's help

Thanks to automation, workers in control rooms operate equipment that used to require hundreds of people. Open vessels once used to melt raw material have been replaced by more labor- and energy-efficient furnaces.

"The steel producers that survived did so by aggressively increasing physical productivity," said Edward "Ned" Hill, a professor of economic development and urban planning at Ohio State University. "Labor costs are a very small part of production costs at this point. When you consider old pictures of cluttered steel mills, the level of automation has been fantastic."

The end of Trump's manufacturing renaissance

[snip] That progress has evaporated this year. Manufacturing employment has slowed, and in October employers cut jobs in the sector by the highest number in a decade.

That is a FACT.
