U.S. Embassy Baghdad, Iraq: Due to heightened tensions in Iraq and the region, the U.S. Embassy urges American citizens to heed the January 2020 Travel Advisory and depart Iraq immediately. U.S. citizens should depart via airline while possible, and failing that, to other countries via land. Due to Iranian-backed militia attacks at the U.S. Embassy compound, all public consular operations are suspended until further notice. U.S. citizens should not approach the Embassy. The U.S. Consulate General in Erbil is open for visa and American Citizen Services appointments, including passport issuance. U.S. citizens in Iraq or those concerned about family in Iraq should contact the Department of State at +1-202-501-4444 or toll-free in the U.S. at 1-888-407-4747.

If in the days and weeks leading up to this attack the Trump Administration and the Pentagon knew they were planning this, why did they wait until AFTER the attack to issue a general travel advisory? Because, for those of you not following current events, the Pentagon has already acknowledged that there was plenty of planning for this attack in advance.

Looks like Trump will finish the job Bush started.

Congrats, Repubs, you're disgusting, toxic, pathetically stupid world view built that.

Headline:
"Dozens of U.S. citizens working for foreign oil companies are leaving Iraq after U.S. air strike killed the top Iranian commander in Iraq"

GoNoles:

You have a firm grasp of the obvious, GoNoles.
So much winning!

Since 2001 we've wasted trillions of dollars in the Middle East fighting over oil and religion.

But remember. There isn't enough money for healthcare, education, housing, ubi... because it's needed for pointless, endless wars.

Trump is turning Iraq and Iran into America hating victims of our violent attacks designed to get Trump reelected. Worked for Bush and Trump said in 2011 that Obama was going to do the same thing, which he never did. Now Trump is doing exactly what he accused Obama of doing and his cult is predictably going along like blind sheep.

They need to evacuate that Iraqi embassy, too. In a general war it's not going to be left standing.

They need to evacuate that Iraqi embassy palace, too.

That will never happen. Cost too much.

It will never happen because that would hurt Trump's pride.

A massacre of Americans there he'll blame on his military.

It will never happen because that would hurt Trump's pride.

And it cost almost a billion dollars. They're going to have to hold on to it forever.

Same goes for Bagram AFB in Afghanistan.

Obviously, you have never been to that embassy. It's hardened enough to take many months of bombing.

There isn't going to be a "general war".
