Beginning in 2011, and continuing through the next year, Donald Trump began obsessively predicting that President Obama would start a war with Iran in order to be reelected. Trump stated it publicly, on at least a half-dozen occasions, explicitly positing that attacking Iran would help Obama win reelection.

I hope IMPOTUS is wrong in thinking a war will get him reelected. But by the time he finds out that it won't it will be far too late for all the people who his war will kill.

I can't see this war boosting his re-election chances much, either. His base idolizes him but he's an untrustworthy butt of jokes to everyone else.

I think the targeted assassination boots his re-election chances, but an all-out war does not.
Trump was deathly afraid to shed American blood, at least during his first week in office and the botched Yemen raid.

Perhaps he's hardened his heart since then.
Perhaps he will ban pictures of flag-draped coffins coming home, like the last Republican President did.

This stage of Donald Trump's Presidency should be viewed as his Presidential bankruptcy, his total failure to build on the successes of the previous President. He had plenty of opportunity but his ego got in his way. If only he to suffer I wouldn't give a crap but that is not the case. We don't even know how many people will suffer because of his latest moment of insanity. i fear that as time moves forward and he sees things are not playing out as he planned he will become increasingly irrational and willing to use weapons that should not even be under consideration.
Oh, and don't look for anyone to use the 25th Amencment, his Cabinet and Vice President are all just as crazy as he is.

Well, that's what happened to Hitler.

But it took Hitler five years to get there.

Trump won't last that long.

"I hope IMPOTUS is wrong in thinking a war will get him reelected. But by the time he finds out that it won't it will be far too late for all the people who his war will kill."

Otherwise known as 'collateral damage' to a pariahs like Trump.

So much for the argument "how much damage could he do?"
