"Deadbeat Cortez should pay her bills," groused a House Democratic aide to the network. "She's always whining about people paying their fair share and here she is leaving her friends with the bill." Meanwhile, she's using the campaign cash to bankroll primary challengers in a bid to oust more moderate House members. Ocasio-Cortez raised $316,000 in 2019 alone through online fundraising for candidates she supports. The 30-year-old has been at odds with the DCCC since it threatened to blackball any campaign strategists or pollsters who worked for Democratic primary challengers against House incumbents.

Funny how Mattress has no problem with his Orange Fuhrer doing what he's accusing AOC of, and a much larger scale. Hypocrite!

Fat Andy is just mad because AOC would never in a million lifetimes F*** him!

AOC is guaranteed to be primaried by her own party. Have no doubt, she will need a large war chest to win. BTW, she won in the last primary by less than 5000 votes when she blindsided an incumbent. The limousine socialist will line up to contribute, but her district isn't deep in that sort of voter. This will be an internal party fight.

So let me get this straight. The DNCC is mad at her because she won't act against primary challengers? Probably in her own district?
Good.
It's tough to actually have integrity and morals in today's (probably forever's) political climate.

Would like to see campaign ads morphing every Dem congressional candidate into the Squad. "A vote for congressman X is a vote for Crazy Cortez and Ilhan Omar."

No stretching needed.......

She back everyt things is FREE Sanders.
She's using her war chest to support "progressive" candidates.

So let me get this straight. The DNCC is mad at her because she won't act against primary challengers?

No, because she is funding those that are against DNCC primary challengers....

AOC instead has built her own fundraising operation to benefit fellow progressive candidates ~ FTA

Probably in her own district?

No ...

It's tough to actually have integrity and morals in today's (probably forever's) political climate.

What integrity is their in taking money as a Democrat and not sharing the profits and paying dues? Why be in a party?

Why be in a party?
#6 | POSTED BY ANDREAMACKRIS

I couldn't agree more with that, but the 2 parties have created a system in which participation is mandatory.
Which is beside the point because she is actually helping the whole party by not boycotting primary challengers.
They're not mad because she won't share, they're mad that she won't share with the candidates they want.

You guys should love AOC, she's shaking up the establishment DNC, which you hate.

#10 | Posted by TFDNihilist at 2020-01-11 09:32 AM | Reply

AOC sure has triggered the wingdings.

Why do they care who she gives money to?

#11 | Posted by bored at 2020-01-11 09:34 AM | Reply

Republicans with opinions about AOC's willingness to share with the DCCC, since it threatened to blackball any campaign strategists or pollsters who worked for Democratic primary challengers against House incumbents, are irrelevant and ought to mind their own business. Your own party has plenty of things worthy of investigation and comment, Us Democrats don't need your assistance in dealing with AOC. Most of us like her and support her, some of us even send small contributions to her. We believe in the future as she envisions it.

#12 | Posted by danni at 2020-01-11 11:07 AM | Reply

No stretching needed.......

Except your headline says "doesn't wanna share" when, in fact, she's sharing with Progressive candidates, not mainstream ones.

You're description isn't anywhere close to a "soshulizm" deflection, but yet you're running that race anyway...

Some of us do not like self-serving politicians. Some of us like politicians who serve us as the our forefathers intended.

Now go do your master's bidding and make sure you vote for him/her again.

How do you know what our "forefathers" intended? Just vote your own concience and not some false

From what they wrote. The Federalist Papers is one of the more famous collection of those documents.

If you feel I'm wrong, please present evidence that our founding fathers intended our politicians to be self-serving rather than they serve the people.

In all honesty, what integrity is there in in taking money from people who got scammed in a university swindle or a fake charity scam that was for children with cancer or veterans? I'm not a member of a party. Just an American who doesn't carry water for any party..

"Ocasio-Cortez has failed to pay any of her $250,000 in dues to the DCCC."

Let's be honest here, her and Bern, and the rest, don't want the party to exist.

There are many reasons why this behavior is unacceptable.

One is that it's easy for her to rake in lots of money in her area. Candidates from less affluent areas are not going to be able to do that on their own and would need more help from a national party.

Second, this behavior leaves the party susceptible to a Trump style candidate that can skew the party. When there is a group of people who are constant, they prevent wild swings.

Some communists are of purer revolutionary spirit than others, and therefore receive extra rations, better transportation, accomodations, decorations, etc. That is, until they're supplanted by another who's even purer and more radical, and the first communist ends up shot against a wall and tossed into a shallow grave.

That's the history of leftist revolutions. The Bolsheviks killed the non-Bolshevik revolutionaries, then Stalin's faction started killing Bolsheviks who led the revolution. In France, Robespierre killed a heroes of the Revolution like Danton, and then the Jacobins chopped his head off. The Left eats its own.

I have mixed feelings about this. On the one hand to me it seems like she should be able to direct funding that she raises to whichever candidates she prefers.

On the other hand she directly benefits from the Democratic Party apparatus in many ways, not the least of which being party affiliation. Instead of running as a Dem in the primary, had she run against the incumbent as an independent or as a member of the Socialist Party or Green Party she would still be pouring drinks. It's like she has her cake and wants to eat it too.

Read the article:

AOC instead has built her own fundraising operation to benefit fellow progressive candidates " including members of the self-proclaimed "Squad" " to bypass the official Democratic Party fundraising operation.

Her decision to work independently of " and sometimes against " the House leadership and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has irked fellow members of her party

She's funding progressive and liberal democrats.

It's time for a revolution in the Democratic Party. It's overdue.

She's helping create it.

The Democratic Party is suppose to represent the working people. She's funding people who remember that.

Some of us do not like self-serving politicians. Some of us like politicians who serve us as the our forefathers intended.

But Donald Trump profiteering off of the Presidency is fine with you. Is he sharing the profits from Mara Lago and his golf resort in Scotland with other members of the GOP? Goat's entire comment is just a bunch of huey. AOC has valid reasons for doing what she is doing and neither she nor I care if Republicans understand what that is or not. It's laughable that you even think we give a crap about what you think about AOC. You don't one single representative in Congress with half of her integrity. She is actually working for the people, you know, the rest of us who the Republican Party quit caring about when Eisenhower left the WH. Y'all haven't had a decent person in the WH since.

Sanders campaign hits Warren

Politico reports that Bernie Sanders's campaign "has begun stealthily attacking Warren as a candidate of the upper crust who could not expand the Democratic base in a general election." Politico's report is based on a script it says it obtained that sets forth what Sanders volunteers should tell voters.

Is that what's going on here? It sounds more like she's the queen bee and doesn't gaf what anyone else says.

That kind of power imbalance bothers me as much for her as it does for Trump.
