An explosion at the crater of Mexico's Popocatepetl volcano hurled incandescent rock about a mile down its slopes Thursday. The blast also sent a column of ash 2 miles into the sky near the nation's capital. Some 25 million people live within about 60 miles of the mountain's crater.

Ah yes the volcanic pollution meme.

A 2009 study showed:

All of the volcanoes on earth combined generate about 200 million tons of carbon dioxide each year. That's a lot, right?

The use of automobiles and industrial activities generate over 24 BILLION tons each year.

Volcanoes are less than 1% contributors.

And this ONE eruption dumped more carbon and other pollutants into the air than every automobile and every airplane combined, in the entire country, will for the rest of the year.

I'm sure Greta Thunberg is in her "boat" heading there right now to protest a volcano for erupting: "How DARE you?" she screams from the foot of the mountain, moments before being buried under a hundred million pounds of rock and ash, and "carbon".

I like how people keep citing "Scientific American" without noting that they aren't counting automobiles and airplanes. They are including all "industrial activity", which is nonsense as no one can possibly measure all industrial activity.

#5 - someone's living rent-free in robert's head.

Also, how many years have we gone over volcanos and how irrelevant (and logically false) that kind of equivalence is?

The use of Automobiles and industrial activities generate over 24 BILLION tons each year.

It is easy to figure out emissions from industrial activity. If you go to the actual study it breaks it down as granualarly as you like.

The math is pretty simple. There's a lot of things to add up but we have these things called computers that do the work for us and never forget to carry a 1.

Robert is one of those typical RepubliDunces who will repeatedly spew 8 miles of false info no matter how often he's corrected.
