Rep. Justin Amash (Mich.), an Independent who left the Republican Party last year, said Sunday that President Trump's claim that Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani was plotting attacks against four U.S. embassies "seems to be totally made up."

Remember the end of July, when rumors were flying around that Trump threatened Ukraine if they didn't announce a phony investigation into Hunter Biden? Lo and behold, that was Exactly the case!
...
Now we have rumors that the whole "imminent threat" is a lie, made up to hide the real cause: several prominent GOP senators told Trump if he wanted unwavering support on impeachment, he better kill a few Iran generals.
...
When this turns out to be proven, there will be thousands who will storm the WH fence and carry out Trump to be arrested.

I sure hope this #4 guy is right but this ---------- has never been held accountable for anything in his whole miserable life.

I suspect he may "deteriorate" if the heat intensifies - just like Weinstein.

If anybody can't tell by now that Trump is lying, they don't want to know.

Same thing if someone doesn't know by now that Trump lives rent free in your head.

Not bait, just an observation. And how odd you saw it. You have me plonked. At least that's what you tell everyone when you tell them to plonk me. LOL

'Seems to be Totally Made Up'

Just like the hurricane that he forecast in Sharpie to hit Alabama.
If that didn't matter, why should this?

But it did matter.

Some people in Alabama believed it unconditionally. There was a run on plywood at Home Depot stores.

However, it was only Alabama and we all know what that means.

"There was a run on plywood at Home Depot stores."

Which, in turn, stimulated the economy of the local Home Depots.

Why can't all you TDSers just admit it was a "win"?

Nothing odd about it.

But you know that.

Why don't we tell Congress what our miltary strategy is going to be. I mean it's not they leak anything. Dems are just ticked that this mission was succesful. They would have been much happier if it went wrong and we had 1000s of our soldiers die as long as it makes Trump look bad. That's the really sick part of this whole thing.

#14 | Posted by fishpaw at 2020-01-13 10:03 AM | Reply

Oh come on folks his own Secretary of Defense (Esper) came out and said he didn't see the evidence of what Trump is claiming.

Just like they were happier when Shrub lied about Iraq and it got 1000s of our soldiers killed and many times more wounded and altered for life? Them Dems were soooo happy about that... You post like an absolute moron. If we never invaded at all we wouldn't be there now. We wouldn't have hit Soleimani either and Iran wouldn't be the regional power we enabled it to become.

George W. Bush withheld/ignored dissenting intelligence assessments.

These things seem like a long time ago to some people.

George W. Bush yanked the nuclear inspectors out of Iraq so they couldn't keep saying they were finding nothing,

Like I said - Bush LIED about. Maybe I should have chose to say selectively chose intelligence that backed up his claims about Iraq's pursuit of WMD's and how Saddam was tied to Osama (complete fabrication) and hid away and ignored the piles that disproved the same allegations.

I will say what I said then - Saddam was an evil man as were his kids. They did need to go. I think what they got was better than they deserved but the people of Iraq have suffered greatly since as have so many Americans and their families because Shrub and in particular Cheney did not want to be listen to the experts. Don't forget - Saddam's top generals were prepared to take him out so long as we didn't invade. THAT would have been the deal to make.

#22 | Posted by GalaxiePete

Maybe so, but where were all the suicide bombers when Saddam was running the place? You could walk down the streets in Baghdad and not worry about a bomber. ISIS wouldn't dare show its face. Once he was gone they were a daily occurrence. Maybe Saddam is what you have to have to maintain order in that part of the world.

And just like you're lying about this, in ten years you'll be lying that you didn't support Trump.

#24 | Posted by Jpw at 2020-01-13 02:41 PM | Reply

Of course it's totally made up.

Not revealed at a top secret Senate get together, but spewed at a Trump rally.

You make the call.............

He's supposed to inform the "Gang of Eight" (half of whom are Republicans) on these things. The record says the Gang of Eight has never leaked. Unless you have documentation to the contrary, you are FOS.

#26 | Posted by WhoDaMan at 2020-01-13 11:17 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

Had there been actionable intel, indicating that plots to attack 4 embassies had been discovered, a functional, responsible State Department would have issued Alerts to protect vital Embassy staff, would they not?

After all, Republicans highly prioritized and studied the process of protecting Embassy personnel, during the Benghazi investigations, isnt that so Republicans?

The fact that no Alerts were issued underscores the lack of legitimate concern the Administration held. Surely, actionable intel would have triggered immediate Warnings.
Absent such warnings, there is little substance to underpin the obviously specious claims of 'immediate and imminent' threats.
