In some parts of Brooklyn shooting someone's dog is a great way to get shot yourself. At very least, the dog's owner should get a couple of free swings at the Secret Service person with a length of rebar...

"In answer to a request from The Daily News to clarify the characterization of "unleashed" since The News has a photo of the dog's body at the scene with her leash still attached, a spokesman for the Secret Service said it "will not have further comment.""

Anybody have any Secret Service stories? In the name of fairness I'll share mine. I work less than a block away from Trump Tower. Since 2016 that area has been heavily fortified. One day I was going to lunch and across the street, about a block from White House North, there is a guy with a table selling knock-off jewelry. He's there regularly. At the same corner there is also a guy who is aggressively trying to get people to buy his hip-hop CD. That is also a regular occurrence for the area. On this day though, the CD guy was hassling people looking at the other guy's jewelry and potential customers were leaving before buying rather than deal with him. Jewelry guy starts getting pissed and tells the other guy to go find his own corner. It starts getting loud immediately. Expletives abound.

At this point I'm crossing the street toward them and hip-hop guy grabs jewelry guy by the head and smashes him against one of those old red iron fire alarm boxes. Repeatedly. It was pretty brutal. Pedestrians start screaming. That's when from out of nowhere two Secret Service officers in bullet proof vests show up. I really mean out of nowhere. There were no cops within a block of the spot and then there they were. I didn't seem them approaching the scene, they were just there all of a sudden. CD guy runs for it, one Secret Service officer gives chase, while the other attends to the jewelry guy who is on the floor bleeding from his head pretty badly. A crowd of tourists surrounding them. I've lived in Manhattan for almost 20 years and have never seen something as violent as that in person. But the actions of the Secret Service officers was really impressive. By the time I got back from grabbing my lunch the ambulance was there and the jewelry guy, blood down the side of his face, was being treated by EMTs and arguing with both them, the Secret Service officers, and the four or five cops that were now at the scene, refusing to be brought to the hospital because nobody was there to watch his table for him. I didn't stick around to see what happened after that but his table was gone when I got out of work a couple hours later, earlier than he normally closes up shop. Haven't seen him since.
