About a dozen miners are still on the tracks leaving Quest Energy in Kimper Tuesday, enduring the rainy weather as they demand the pay they are owed.

About 50 employees claim they have not been paid since mid-December.

Stiffing workers out of their pay is a tactic straight out of the bloated------------'s playbook. MAGA!!!

I was innocent enough to believe in 2016 that this behavior alone would keep Trump out of the presidency.

I'll forever be astonished at how "conservatives" support Trump's historical thievery; at how they appear to consider it his right. How they BEHAVE like it's his right.

What's really bad is even if they get paid up.....they're still working for a employer willing to do this.

Not good

If they'd have stayed in the unions their grandfathers fought for things would likely be different.

For them, as long as they don't show up in threads like this they can pretend they don't know what a crook he has been all his life.

"What does Trump have to do with this"

President Donald Trump came into the White House vowing to end the Obama administration's so-called war on coal and Make Anthracite Great Again. Instead, Trump is overseeing a cascading collapse of America's coal industry, a trend that could have political consequences for him in the 2020 U.S. presidential election. foreignpolicy.com October 30, 2019

This is a local issue. Did you read the story?

Or is your logic the usual snoofygames logic of, "This means this and this means that and that means something else which means x and that happened when Trump was president"?

#11 | Posted by goatman at 2020-01-15 07:52 PM | Reply | Funny: 2

"This is a local issue."

Coal mining only employs about 50,000 people in America.
It's always going to be "a local issue" when mines run into trouble.
There was even a famous movie about some coal miner's daughter. A local issue, if you will, but also a nationally recognized story.

But that's all beside the point.
Trump made it part of his national agenda, to keep coal in business.
Perhaps you weren't paying attention in 2016, which is why you don't know that, which does sound quite blissful.

I was. It's still a local issue in spite of my predicted snoofy spin.

Yes, one Trump embraced nationally.

It has about as much to do with Trump as Solyndra has to do with Obama, if that helps put things in perspective.

Daddy worked like a mule mining Pike County coal
Til' he ------ up his back and couldn't work anymore
He said one of these days you'll get out of these hills
Keep your nose on the grindstone and out of the pills
-Tyler Childers : Nose on the Grindstone

My sweat and my wages they don't seem to weight out
I'm gettin' more aches than I'm gainin' in gold
Whoever said you could raise you a family
Just a'workin' your ass off knee deep in coal?

#17 thanks for reminding me of Mattea,Snoofy.About 10 years ago I was bored and wanted to get out of town. Read in the back of the paper of a singer/storyteller going to appear in the little town of Wickenburg. I never heard of her but it was one helluva show. Guess I'll have to dig out the cds now.

These terrorists need to be put in jail or shot.

How dare the impede a job creator.

So what if they didnt get their overly generous pay. Re-negotiating compensation is smart in these trying times for billionaire entrepreneurs.

Try again next time when you have some trans woc (lol as if they'd ever venture out of an a/c'd office) hunkering down in the mine.

Actually he said learn to code.

And he is right. They need to learn other job skills. Coal Mining isn't coming back. It can't compete with other energy production now that technology is advancing so rapidly.

Is your plan for them to just work in the mines and not get paid? To be honest, not surprised.

Leftists had local programs in place to help re-educate miners and help them get new, different jobs in the workforce.

Trump cut that.

You illiterate hack.
