MLB.com: The Giants rounded out new manager Gabe Kapler's coaching staff by adding two Major League assistant coaches on Thursday, including former Sacramento State softball player Alyssa Nakken, who is poised to become the first woman to hold a coaching position on a big league staff.

Interesting. I'm guessing a memo went out to the players, "no helicoptering in the locker room" when Ms. Nakken is present.

This is a major milestone and it comes quickly on the heels of the Yankees becoming the first MLB organization to hire a female coach at any level. It's unfortunate though that the hiring is stained with the stink of Kapler who has been credibly accused of covering up an assault of a 17 year old girl instead of reporting it to law enforcement.

Time out was called when the runner on first was totally confused and the coach came out to see what the problem was.

She headed back to the dugout and for the rest of the game, the other coach gave the hand signals.
