Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Friday, January 17, 2020

Trump by now was in one of his rages. He was so angry that he wasn't taking many breaths. All morning, he had been coarse and cavalier, but the next several things he bellowed went beyond that description. They stunned nearly everyone in the room, and some vowed that they would never repeat them.

Thank goodness we have a president who is extremely grown-up - so grown-up it's off the charts - and he has a very high IQ, and nobody knows as much as he does about the military, nor does anyone know as much as he does about any of the following, because he has told us:

Energy*
Environment
Renewables
Healthcare
Debt
Social media
Taxes
Banking
Wall Street
The American system of government
Campaign contributions
Jobs
Trade
ISIS
H1B1 visas
TV ratings
The courts
Borders
Infrastructure
Drones
Technology

*Except wind energy. "I never understood wind," he said in December.**

**Although he does understand windmills. And of course windmill cancer.

A female patient was prescribed testosterone, but began to get concerned and called her doctor.

I was talking about some of the other quotes from the article.
Basically we don't win wars, building expensive bases is dumb, we should be compensated for our troops and equipment or we should leave, etc

I read another article about the book (as opposed to the one linked to this thread), but I agreed with a lot of the criticisms he hit the generals with.

Do you think we should build expensive foreign bases?

We should have gotten out of Afghanistan (should have never really set up shop there in the first place).
We should quit building bases worldwide.
We should be heavily compensated/reimbursed for providing prosperous countries with such a robust defense.
We should use our military to win decisively and violently and then let the people we whooped find their own path forward.

Trump likes to talk tough. I still don't think he wants wars. His actions speak louder than his ridiculous words.
Smoking Soliemani was overdue in my book. He should have or could have hit Iran prior to that, but he just doesn't seem to want war.

We are, bro. America's success is our economy. It's driven by innovation and by foreigners who come here to take advantage of our land of opportunity. Foreigners and first-generation Americans are overrepresented in C-level positions.

Because I see it as more stupidity piled on top of the stupidity that led us down the path we went down to begin with.

Let me say this clearly-your support of the Iraq war makes your opinion schit on this. You have zero judgement to go on so kindly STFU and let people far smarter than you fix the mess you supported when it was made.

Again, you're too stupid to discuss this.

#69 | Posted by 101Chairborne

Says the guy who has to lie about something I said two posts ago.

Says the guy who's unable to connect dots to see just how pathetically schit his opinions are OVER TIME and that he doesn't deserve to "discuss" this with anybody because his opinions and judgement are schit.

How predictable was it that an Iranian General in charge of a designated terrorist group, that was responsible for attacking Americans and American interests was killed for his actions and support?

#70 | Posted by 101Chairborne

It's completely predictable because we have idiots with the mental acuity of yourself running the show.

You idiots have turned us into the George Zimmerman of the world but still want to play the victim card as if those dead troops aren't the result of the schit foreign policy you beat your chest over. Because we were "limpwrists" then too, right?

Chair,

Do you really not get cause and effect? You can't fathom how your past positions have brought us here and how being that wrong for that wrong makes your opinion...suspect.

No, I don't want troops being targeted or our facilities/embassies attacked.

But then again I wasn't naive enough to think it wasn't going to happen.

Nor will I be naive enough to not expect the next round of violence. The only ones who seem not to are the reactionary ones who want something blown up in response to a predictable event.

#74 | Posted by jpw at 2020-01-17 06:18 PM | Reply

Of course I get cause and effect.
What I will never "get" and what you will never be able to explain, is why you think an Iranian general (even if he weren't in charge of a terrorist group, as designated by Obama) should get a free pass for attacking shipping, US interests, soldiers, and embassies in countries other than Iran, and be able to live.
Soliemani didn't get to attack us just because we rolled through Iraq. If we rolled through Iran, he would be justified, but that's not what happened.
I find your inability to process that very strange.

It seems like you get why the US should be able to do all that, but you're unable to simply think the same way about Iran.
What's up with that?

Why is no one talking about this?

"We are owed money you haven't been collecting!" Trump told them. "You would totally go bankrupt if you had to run your own business."

Oh yeah, because Trump is proven to be a projecting idiot blowhard several times a day and any one of these things should make him unelectable for any office, but half our country seems to have been eating lead paint chips for years.

I tend to agree with Trumplethinskin on this. I mean look at our retired military represented here in this forum. Most of them are dopes and babies that never won a war and yet still get paid for not delivering. We (they) talk all big about being powerful and nations all over the place have called our bluff starting with Korea 70 years ago. Everyone that stands up to us wins expelling us from their country.

The military has been allowed to run on delusions and commercialism while they steal money from the middle class wreaking destruction turning kids into orphans women into widows and girls into prostitutes... just the way clowns like things over there... then they can look down on them like they are animals.

Everyone needs to stop lying about this about the influence of our military might...especially since they are being sold out to big oil and big pharma (opium).

Republicl0wns are just the most obvious with their delusions about our military prowess.

What you describe is what Iran is doing, Gen. Soleimani was just one cog in their armed forces. If you think what they are doing then you probably ought to be in favor of war with Iran, not individual assassinations which will do nothing to alter the behavior or Iran. Or.....we could just go home where we belong and use our military to defend America which is designed to do.

You raise a false dichotomy.

While I agree the military is spending alot of money, and making fun of the upper echelons of the military is where the Liberals have made a fortune.

I disagree the military is "stealing" the people that work in the MIC are actually producing something. Its the entitlements that are killing the middle class taxpayer. Just look at the budget.

That mentality demonstrates just how stupid you are. We lose war after war using those "somethings" to garner NOTHING. We lose war after war on "somethings" that are really nothing substantive... and you think entitlement spending is the problem?

"did you know that he was one of those [going back decades] involved in the taking of our embassy under the Jimmy Carter administration?"

You bring up a situation which Republicans have forever given up the right to even talk about after Ronald Reagan made his deal with the Ayatollah to keep our hostages until after he was inagurated President....444 days as I recall. Never, ever bring up that shameful moment for Republicans it makes you look like you think that was ok. I would say that the Republican party lost its soul with that deal if Nixon hadn't negotiated, behind the back of the Johnson administration, with the S. Vietnames promising them a better deal if they would blow up the Paris Peach Talks and continue the war, which they did, at a cost of over 25,000 more American lives.
Quite honestly, the Republican Party has been the party of traitors since 1972. That is who they still are; case in point, the way they have behaved during the impeachment hearings. They don't want the truth, the truth would destroy them.

"I disagree the military is "stealing" the people that work in the MIC are actually producing something. Its the entitlements that are killing the middle class taxpayer. Just look at the budget."

"Military spending included $212.9 billion for defense-related departments. These include Homeland Security, the State Department, and Veterans Affairs. These departments also receive emergency funding of $26.1 billion. Add it up, and the total U.S. spending on defense is $989 billion."

www.thebalance.com

Just what are they producing? Dead bodies? Certainly not success in any of the nations we have stupidly invaded.

Whining atout entitlements is a popular whine among Republicans but pretending it is the largest part of the federal budget just isn't true unless you include SS and Medicare which are both paid for by payroll taxes.

OK, tell Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush and Donald Trump who seem to think that tax cuts for the rich will pay for themselves. Bill Clinton balanced the budget and Barrack Obama would have too had he not have had to clean up the mess left behind by Bush.
Republicans gave up the mantle of fiscal responsibility with the election of Ronald Reagan it is laughable that you still try to pretend that your side is the responsible side today.
