imagine being such a loathsome piece of ---- that the only lawyers willing to defend you at your impeachment trial are bluenose prig panty-sniffer Ken Starr and sex-trafficking-plutocrat bestie Alan Dershowitz

I hope they plop Pam Bondi onto this team. The backstories alone are going to stink up the chamber.

But but it was a perfect call.

Kind of reassuring to remember that the only impeachment trial Dershowitz had anything to do with ended in a trial that he lost.

So what were see here is two attnys who care more about their publicity than about a Pres who refuses to testify and who issues a blanket order to his aides not to testify... for the first time ever. Not surprising considering who they are.

"Kind of reassuring to remember that the only impeachment trial Dershowitz had anything to do with ended in a trial that he lost."

You seem to be confused (as usual). Dershowitz vociferously defended Clinton in public during his impeachment. He also got O.J. off. Neither Dershowitz nor Starr were directly involved in the Senate trial.

Is that the same Dershowitz who was boinking 15 years old on Epstein Island? lol.

Exactly. He was intensely critical of both Starr and Robert Ray during Whitewater and the Clinton impeachment, so it will be interesting to see how they work together.

Dersowitz also got Claus Von Bulow's conviction overturned ("nobody shook Sunny"), defended Patty Hearst, Mike Tyson and was the youngest full Professor in Harvard Law History. He is a registered Democrat, voted party line his entire life (and against Trump) and in a public statement said he "is participating in this impeachment trial to defend the integrity of the Constitution and to prevent the creation of a dangerous constitutional precedent."

He may or may not have banged 15 year olds with Bubba Clinton at Epstein's island, but if that is all you got then have fun with it. Besides, don't you make a living representing people like Epstein and OJ? Seems to me that you would have a lot of respect for Prof. Dershowitz.

No, he was pulling Clinton off of them. He didn't want to defend him again.

When Kenneth Starr led the impeachment effort against former President Bill Clinton, Trump was not a fan.

"I think Ken Starr's a lunatic," Trump said at the time. "I really think that Ken Starr is a disaster. I really think that Ken Starr was terrible," he added.

In another interview, this time with Geraldo Rivera when Hillary Clinton was running for state senator of New York, Trump brought up Starr's name again.

"[Bill Clinton] had a very tough life the last few years," Trump said. "I mean, what could be tougher than that? I mean, can you imagine those evenings when he's just being lambasted by this crazy Ken Starr, who is a total wacko? There's the guy. I mean, he is totally off his rocker."

Raw Story

Dershowitz because a huge Trump fan (and vice-versa) because they hung out with each other at Epstein's Rape Island, and they each know that the other could out him.

Saw a funny meme just now.

"25 years ago Alan Dershowitz defended O.J. Simpson. Now he's defending Donald Trump.
Donald Trump is orange. . . . . . . connect the dots."

So he got the lawyer who WANTED to impeach a president for obstructing congress...
And then the same lawyer as epstein and OJ simpson.

Adorable.

Was darth vader not available?

Trump had this to say about Starr in 1999:

"I think Ken Starr is a lunatic. I really think that Ken Starr is a disaster," President Trump declared in the clip. "I hated the way the president handled it, it was a long and terrible process. I really think that Ken Starr was terrible."

"I'll hire only the best people" - Trump 2016

Guess he thinks hiring 'terrible' people is fine since he has a track record of doing just that.

Dershowitz? Keep your friends close and your fellow pedophiles closer!

Dershowitz says he's not an attorney in this case, which makes him a witness.
That means the GOP can't claim "no witnesses" any longer. They may try, but now they can be beat to hell over it.

Not really, he has said he is participating in an amicus role, not as a fact witness.

But a guy can hope, right?

#25 | Posted by Rightocenter at 2020-01-18 12:50 PM | Reply

While you all are talking Dershowitz, don't forget that Starr also defended Epstein and was fired from Baylor U for his part in covering up sexual assault allegations.

dershowitz just destroyed his legacy.

#27 | Posted by Alexandrite at 2020-01-18 10:35 PM | Reply

hahaha!
Dershowitz now say's he's an attorney for Trump, so me beating up the lie about him being an amicus "role" in person, not by brief (bulls**t), doesn't have to be done.

It's become crystal clear that Trump and his attorney's can't argue against the facts, so they're going for "impeach's not legit, you must acquit!" play.
