The lengthy legal brief from Democratic lawmakers is the opening volley in a high-stakes trial only seen twice before in history. The president's lawyers are expected to respond to the charges soon.

House Impeachment Trial Brief: President Donald J. Trump used his official powers to pressure a foreign government to interfere in a United States election for his personal political gain, and then attempted to cover up his scheme by obstructing Congress's investigation into his misconduct. The Constitution provides a remedy when the President commits such serious abuses of his office: impeachment and removal. The Senate must use that remedy now to safeguard the 2020 U.S. election, protect our constitutional form of government, and eliminate the threat that the President poses to America's national security. The House adopted two Articles of Impeachment against President Trump: the first for abuse of power, and the second for obstruction of Congress. The evidence overwhelmingly establishes that he is guilty of both. The only remaining question is whether the members of the Senate will accept and carry out the responsibility placed on them by the Framers of our Constitution and their constitutional Oaths.

The President is still screaming "Witch hunt!"

Why does Trump keep calling himself a "witch?"

A solid non-partisan case that presents facts and evidence should be a slam dunk for conviction.

I sure hope the Democrats bring it. haha

We can always depend on SHEEPLE to come up with something dumb and overly simplistic.

The Senate has the choice to vote Trump out of office now or send in the loyal 101st Airborne Division to get him later.

Is there a "case"?

Conviction?

Of what?

I see lots of "legal" terms but no illegality cited, or much less a violation.....

If you are creating a new "legal" system, lay out a provable definition of your terms, I will wait.

Of course you don't.

The GAO already said the hold was illegal in itself in violation of US law.
All witnesses have said the aid was withheld to force Ukraine to announce an investigation into a political rival of Trump's (bribery under the Constitution). No witnesses have suggested otherwise.
And the GOP's mantra during the Clinton impeachment was that it didn't have to be illegal to impeach the President (even though Trump clearly did break the law).

I'm sorry. I don't have enough crayons to explain this any more clearly to you.
