Well, regardless of how dumb the DR headline is knowing it was a sarcastic comment, this is exactly what the conversation should be about and Trump is too stupid to realize it. Infrastructure is the only thing we should be debating about and coming up with answers. This is his partisan hate showing but considering how much dumb partisan hate has been thrown by Libs, it's just more of the same. The worst part though is how partisan hate to counter the partisan hate isn't even correct. It isn't a permanent sea level rise because the same science that proves climate change ALSO proves that sea levels will still vary across the globe. One place might have high levels and then 50 years later the levels will go down and another geographic area has to deal with the rise. A hurricane has nothing to do with the conversation because it can't be attributed to climate change since there is no significant increase in the number of or severity of hurricanes in the last 150 years. So, either way, both sides show how dumb they are.

The most cost effective way to protect NYC would be to tow trump a mile out to sea and sink him.

"The most cost effective way to protect NYC would be to tow trump a mile out to sea and sink him."

Not a good plan, the tidal wave it would create would devastate most of the city.

The cost-effective solution is to move people to higher ground. It would cost trillions to build sea walls up and down the east and southeast coasts.

And how much would it cost to move millions of people and build new cities for them to live/work in? Seems to me that Global Climate Change is going to cost trillions no matter what you do or don't do about it.

What the hell are you talking about?

The science says the sea levels will go up to differing degrees everywhere. That's not saying they will just vary across the globe. They will vary only in how high they rise.

And yeah, its permanent until the world cools off again...which isn't going to happen until we get green house gases under control.

And the cost to relocate all our costal cities is what? A few million?

Dumbass.

The cheapest solution is to move to green energy as fast as possible.

#15 nope. That does not solve global warming. It delays it. With zero man made emissions, the ice caps still melt and stay melted for thousands of years. Read the charts. Time to move off the coasts.

Magical thinking is what got us here.

And Magical thinking may be the end for us all.

Gotta love how snippy thinks this article is NOT about our rising seas. Which have already have by 3 inches and is projected to rise a 1/4 inch per year.

That's the kind of magical thinking that will get his other fellow humans killed.

But.

Whatever you do. When the floods come your way... Don't panic. And don't forget your towels!

Don't worry about me. I live 200 feet above sea level. So it will be a while.

But there are millions who live in the coasts. Worry about them.

Tell them to move. Go ahead. Try.

Some can. Some can't. So the ones that can't. Too bad for them.

Right Nulli?

And who do they believe? The ones who say move it! You are in danger. Years from now. Or the ones who say don't worry. It's a chinese hoax.

So Be happy now children. Our living loving God wouldn't do mean things to us like drown us all in a flood. He Promised! He will drown a few of you.

It's about how bad it gets. That's the issue. You aren't dumb enough to think all the ice caps will melt, right?

Do you want the sea levels going up a foot or five feet? Now is the time to choose.

#27 | Posted by Sycophant at 2020-01-21 12:25 PM | Reply

They totally melt without human input per the IPCC reports. We accelerate it. We're getting the max no matter what. To map the impact, we go to the NOAA Sea Level Rise Viewer. I cranked it up to the available max, 10 feet.

Go see how it effects you personally here: coast.noaa.gov

For me, it doesn't. You Miami people are f'ed.
