Boeing is in talks with banks to secure a loan of $10 billion or more, according to people familiar with the matter, as the company faces rising costs stemming from two fatal crashes of its 737 Max planes.

It's pretty clear they will get it but is sounds like possibly irresponsible financial behavior on their part as well. For example paying out dividends while going through this crisis.

Better a private bailout than a public one.

Taxpayers have bailed out the auto industry, big banks, and Wall Street.

(With zero returns.)

Don't rule out our money bailing out Boeing.

The Boeing suits cut all those corners on the Max development to save money. I'm sure they paid themselves a big bonus as a result of all those savings. Now it looks like they would have saved more if they had listened to their engineers.

You are going to pretend Danni makes enough money to be a net positive tax payer?

I think your mom is directly supporting you financially and Danni as well via the taxes she pays. You should make her a nice card so she feels appreciated or at least keep your basement clean so she can do laundry without having to pick up all your crap off the floor.

Moreso than Amazon?
Careful, you might get the point.
Best to just hush up now.

What the hell does Amazon have to due with you and Danni crying about a taxpayer bailout when neither of you actually pays taxes? Thanks for being a watchdog for where the money actual taxpayers pay winds up - but we don't need your help.

Corporations are willing to kill you, your entire family, everyone you know, and everyone else to turn a profit.

Then they will beg for a handout, that you, your entire family, everyone you know, and everyone else pay for to keep from going broke.

Liberals are willing to kill you, your entire family, everyone you know, and everyone else to take your money and control your life.
They will not beg for a handout, that you, your entire family, everyone you know, and everyone else pay for to keep from going broke - they will simply take your wealth through the barrel of a gun. Whether it be Pol Pot, Stalin, Mao, Kim, etc - it matters little. The goal is to take your money for the greater good of the communism - with the result of everyone being destitute outside of a small ruling class.

After Boeing secures their handout they are sure to get, financed by people who they were more than happy to see die to turn a profit, they are going to use a big chunk of it to write bonus checks to the people who made the executive decision to kill people to turn a profit.

And #12 will stand by them when they do it.

Write it down.

Actually no. Boeing is a uniquely ------- company preying on dumb liberal states and cities (Seattle and now Chicago) for a constant stream of handouts via tax credits. I don't support anything about them.

Try Deutsche Bank or the Clinton Foundation. I hear they are flush with cash, and will loan to anyone.

#14 is against this sort of thing -- before it happens -- and they always are.

As soon as it does it will be:

"It's part of their negotiated pay package. How else do you expect these companies to keep the sociopaths they hire if they don't pay them these bonuses after they get bailed out for killing people? If they didn't pay them their sociopaths would leave and go murder people for profits at another corporation."

Clinton Foundation and DB no longer have cash to spend. DB is bankrupt and the German government has been trying to force a merger for years. Just a matter of time before it closes its doors. The Clinton cash machine hit a speed bump with Cankles was rejected by the voters and people realized that Chelsea lacks the brains to continue the family corruption business - probably because she is not Bill's biological kid.

Boeing is one of the largest manufacturers and largest exporters in the US. When they stop making their most popular product, and that cessation extends for a significant amount of time, there is a ripple effect that touches the many intermediate firms which supply parts, technology and manufacturing assistance to Boeing.

Pay attention--the recession of 2020 is in its first days...

ANY business ought to be allowed to die after a misfeasance or malfeasance. "Too big to fail" has NEVER been a good descriptor of business survival. Boeing ought to have bought sufficient Congressmen and Senators by now to effect anything Boeing wants.

I don't think you will see a recession from this. Sure does hurt a LOT of Americans though. That Spirit layoff was huge. It's not the only one. It may well bankrupt some suppliers too but this won't cause a recession. The GM strike caused far more pain but it was relatively short term.

$10 Billion??????

To cover the costs of lawsuits from 2 (TWO!!!) downed aircrafts?????

That's not going to be near enough (after attorney fees).

Attorneys care less about the number of people killed than Boeing does. They see all those $zeroes$ and immediately start to calculate how much of it they can get for themselves.

Ya know if that were me and I was trying to borrow money after a colossal screw-up... banks would consider my credit bad and not lend me the money.

Let one of their more careful competitors buy them out and take the enginers that designed that plane and publically execute them If the CEO's @$$e$ were on the line perhaps they would be more careful.

There needs to be a serious punishment for excessive greed.

Trump gave Farmers $28 billion after he screwed up trade with China.

I'm sure he'll give Boeing at least $10 billion.

#17 | POSTED BY IRAGOLDBERG

How is the Trump Foundation? Oh...it's closed for stealing money for Donald and fined $2 million... Odd...

By the way, the Clinton Foundation raised about $30 million in 2018. And because of funds in their account, they were able to give away about $40 million. Not too shabby. Unfortunately, the Endowment portion that was raising real money had to be shut down because Clinton ran for President. Apparently, they know how to follow the law more than Trump.

Want proof? The DOJ and Congressional Republicans investigated the Clinton Foundation after Trump took office. They found no evidence of wrong doing.

Maybe you could point out one of the "lies".

In this post I said that Boeing takes advantage of dumb Liberal cities to get billions in tax subsidies - Chicago and Seattle cited as examples:

www.seattletimes.com - Seattle

www.nytimes.com - Chicago

And I posted that Deutsche Bank is bankrupt and German government pushing for a merger:

www.bloomberg.com

And lastly that the Clinton Foundation has their cash cut off:

www.opensecrets.org

So please - stop saying 'Ira is lying' because your emotion driven world does not align with the facts/reality that I bring to you daily. If you don't like what I write - bring a FACT BASED argument to dispute it.

He attended a public school in Indonesia. So, either he or his parents on his behalf attested that he was a Muslim and study of the Koran is a requirement for public school students.

Second, his family (half of it) is Kenyan - or do you think Obama's stated father is not his real father? Stop with the conspiracy theories.
