Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

A recording reviewed by ABC News appears to capture President Donald Trump telling associates he wanted the then-U.S. ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch fired while speaking at a small gathering that included Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman -- two former business associates of Trump's personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani who have since been indicted in New York.

... The recording appears to contradict statements by President Trump and support the narrative that has been offered by Parnas during broadcast interviews in recent days. ...

As I have mentioned over the past week or so, the veracity of what Mr Parnas has asserted will be proven or disproven as more evidence emerges.

So far, most, if not all, of what he has said has been corroborated by evidence either surfaced in the past or continuing to be surfaced.

... Sources familiar with the recording said the recording was made during an intimate April 30, 2018, dinner at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C. ...

I gotta wonder, though, who records the conversation at intimate dinners with Pres Trump? And why?

I gotta wonder, though, who records the conversation at intimate dinners with Pres Trump? And why?

With Fat Nixon's proclivity for illegal ---- and throwing accomplices under the bus when caught, I would think anyone with more than one functioning brain cell would be taping every conversation with him.

More info is emerging...

Lawyer alleges Giuliani associate recorded Trump comments on Ukrainian ambassador
www.axios.com

...What they're saying: Lev Parnas' lawyer Joseph Bondy told The Daily Beast that Parnas' former business partner Igor Fruman recorded the exchange....

Parnas' lawyer Bondy: "Last year, before he was arrested, Mr. Parnas personally heard a recording of his April 30, 2018, dinner with the president and others, made by Mr. Fruman, at which the subject of Ambassador Yovanovitch was discussed. We have hoped that, to the extent this recording still existed, it would be released to Congress for use in the impeachment trial." ...

Worth noting: ABC News originally reported on Friday it reviewed the recording, which Axios has not obtained or reviewed....

@#3 ... Mr. Parnas personally heard a recording of his April 30, 2018, dinner with the president and others ...

Wait a minute...

Pres Trump has repeatedly stated he does not know Mr Parnas, but here, apparently, Mr Parnas is in attendance at an intimate dinner with Pres Trump?

So... apparently Pres Trump has intimate dinners with people he does not know?

"Get rid of her!" is what the voice that appears to be President Trump's is heard saying. "Get her out tomorrow. I don't care. Get her out tomorrow. Take her out. Okay? Do it."

President -----------. He could have legitimately and simply said "America thanks you for your service, and you are no longer needed. Good-bye" but he doesn't have the b***s to fire anyone himself. Instead he creates drama on top of drama, involves all kinds of people, and puts himself into an impeachment hearing.

By doing all that he proves his corrupt intent making what could have been an ordinary change in personnel into an illegal act.

I elected Trump to fire people like Marie Yovanovitch.

The President of the United States of America sets foreign policy. If she cannot follow his lead she should have the integrity to resign rather than bad-mouth the President of the United States of America and work against his purposes.

These deep state traitors should not be tolerated.

@#8:
You didn't know Yovanovitch's name when you voted for Trump.
You also don't know if she said a single bad thing about Trump.
Parnas has completely recanted what he attributed to her and issued her an apology.
You on the other hand repeat right-wing garbage, continue to slander a patriot, and enable a would-be despot.

You are dumb enough to believe Hicks-Jones Infowars propaganda and -------- it's time for you to leave my country. Anytime you bring up the fictional "deep state" you've lost the argument.

You and your plonk worthy posts. Fire people like Yovanovitch - who is noted anti-corruption fighter who stands up for the Rule of Law. She never didn't follow Trump's foreign policy and if you are suggesting blackmail and corruption are acceptable US foreign policy by anyone you should have your right to vote revoked. His purposes are corrupt and illegal. That woman should be labeled a patriot instead of you idiotic idea of a "deep state traitor". You are a brainwashed idiot.

How about we refute it then? IF he either did something illegal then where is the evidence and full steam ahead with a prosecution. Oh no evidence? Let's get an FBI investigation going. Oh Barr said there is no evidence of wrong doing by them in Ukraine? STFU

Ambassador doesn't enforce laws BTW.

Yes, and notice that he's asking Lev and Igor questions about foreign policy, questions that he should have been asking either the State Department or his National Security Advisors. And all along he claims that he doesn't know these guys and his people claim he couldn't pick them out of a line-up, yet here we have Trump, in his own voice, talking, asking questions, making jokes at an 'intimate' dinner for nearly two hours.

The Know Nothing, formally known as the Native American Party and the American Party from 1855 onwards, was a far-right nativist political party and movement in the United States which operated nationwide in the mid-1850s. It was primarily an anti-Catholic, anti-immigration, and xenophobic movement, originally starting as a secret society. The Know Nothing movement also briefly emerged as a major political party in the form of the American Party. Adherents to the movement were to simply reply "I know nothing" when asked about its specifics by outsiders, providing the group with its common name. en.wikipedia.org

Ambassadors serve "at the pleasure of the President", meaning they can be dismissed at any time. Appointments change regularly for various reasons, such as reassignment or retirement. An ambassador may be a career Foreign Service Officer (career diplomat " CD) or a political appointee (PA).
