The country is already paying the price for that tool acting as pres.

The sheer volume and inanity of Pres Trump's tweets tells me that there is a firm basis for the impeachment.

That Pres Trump is wasting so much twitter time trying to discount the impeachment means only that he is concerned about the evidence being surfaced, and he feels the need to attempt to discount it.

If Pres Trump were one tenth as smart as he claims to be, he'd silence his twitter account on this topic, and let his surrogates dismiss the allegations.

Much more likely to be an under 18 year old boy very much alive. Schiff should curtail his usual perversions until the trial is over.

I do believe that he meant that hanging one's hat on something that fails [possibly spectacularly] is not good for one's position in the party, and the voters. when one makes promises they should deliver to stay in good graces with the powers to be.

You mean like Donald Trump does? Remember "most transparent administration in history?" Then why are so many members of the administration forbidden from testifying? Why are so many documents being withheld?

So Liberals every day talk about how Trump should come to a violent end in varying ways and that's OK. But once Trump says that someone hasn't paid the price (and doesn't even threaten he is going to make them pay the price), that's when Libs get their panties in a wad? I mean, the guy says dumb stuff every day; he doesn't need help looking and sounding dumb. But I guess since Libs can't live their life unless they tell everyone about all the things they don't like, they just feel the need to add insinuations.

Donald Trump has an ethic for revenge. Donald Trump brags about getting even. Donald Trump is mentally unstable.

Donald Trump is the next door neighbor who poisoned your cat, stalked your wife, and spread rumors you have AIDS.

Donald Trump is very, very stupid. But he has much smarter people around him who want to make him happy.

Jeffrey Epstein wasn't a suicide.

Hahaha, what?

I don't hear liberals talking about violent ends, you must mean "Tucker Carlson says, without evidence, that liberals are threatening violence toward the president every day, so it must be true."

Reading not-liberal comments is increasingly like listening to schizophrenics. You live in a different world, devoid of facts and reason.

This was quite clearly anything but a threat.

TDS really has made some people go insane.

Most of his tweets are stupid and some are offensive.

Just call them out for what they are - anybody who believes this was either an explicit or veiled threat needs to have their head examined.

#20 | Posted by JeffJ at 2020-01-27 01:01 PM | Reply

Schiff called out Drumpf for what he is, "wrathful and vindictive."

Schiff used careful language as well, when asked if he thought Drumpf's tweet was a threat. Skillfully responding, "I think it's intended to be."

Another Drumpf apologist trying to deflect from his behavior by claiming it is just stupid or offensive, but not intended as a threat. Such intellectual dishonesty from someone who claims to be sane makes me wonder who really needs to have their head examined.

He has not payed the price, yet, for what he has done to this Country!

#21 | Posted by chuffy at 2020-01-27 01:27 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

What does "paying the price" mean in context? What is the price?

What has he done to this Country?

How can any reasonable person completely disregard even the possibility that this could be construed as threatening language? (I'll answer this, if you are not a reasonable person, you can easily just say this is TDS)

Schizophrenics, dude.

#22 | Posted by chuffy at 2020-01-27 01:30 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

I would assume the price he'll be paying is the supposed political backlash the right says is going to come as a result of the impeachment.
Does anyone actually think he meant it as some ominous threat?

#24 | Posted by JeffJ at 2020

Think about all the almost countless times Donald Trump has gone out of his way to hurt someone, most often those much weaker than he is.

What offers Shiff a bit of protection is that he's a powerful man in his own right, in the public eye

#27 | Posted by Zed at 2020-01-27 01:52 PM | Reply

When will the right recognize that this is not just some old guy sitting on his porch yelling at the kids to get off his lawn? He is the President of the United States. He has more power than almost anyone else on the planet. Why do you think the Ukrainian ambassador felt threatened? Why do you think Stormy Daniels felt threatened? Why did Cohen threaten people on his behalf? This is who he is! And the fact that he has so much power should be frightening.

#28 | Posted by WhoDaMan at 2020-01-27 01:58 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

Intellectually dishonest people will ignore the influence that the words of powerful people have on others. Only a moron would think that Drumpf himself would carry out a threat, or make such a clear threat as to not have some plausible deniability. Nice family you have there, it would be a shame if something happened to them. Completely innocent language, right?

Apparently, the other thing we need to just assume, judging from your previous arguments, is that Drumpf himself is going to order some sort of "hit" on the people he threatens. The mental gymnastics it takes to get yourselves to that point is astounding. Not enough straw in the world for you folks.

Here are 36 cases invoking 'Trump' in connection with violence, threats, alleged assaults. Of course he doesn't intend to do anything himself. He has his nutzoid base to do that for him. The biggest thing sparing harm to these people is incompetence so far.

2 weeks ago Nancy Pelosi publicly said if the GOP Senators don't vote to have witnesses they will pay a price.

Donald Trump is "vindictive and wrathful", whereas Nancy is not.

Come on, JEFF. Trump has a documented history of hiring, and using, enforcers. One of them is currently in prison.

Considering that over 50% of Americans polled say they are for impeachment and removal... I highly doubt there will be a political price to pay.

And even if there is a price.. it's worth it to try to contain a wannabe dictator that thinks he is above the law.

You gotta admit, Trump has a way of stirring up the craziest right wingers to want to enforce his warped belief system. Schiff would be well-advised to keep an eye out for weirdos carrying weapons.

Define "ominous threat".

A death threat? I doubt it.

A threat for retaliation of some sort from Trump utilizing powers of POTUS or his lackeys such as Barr? Absolutely.

Why? Because he tried to do it with Biden and the GOP closed ranks around him instead of kicking him to the curb. He'll absolutely do it again knowing there will be no repercussions.
