Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The Trump administration, investigative journalist Sharon Lerner detailed a few days later, "is executing an old tobacco industry scheme to dismantle the federal government's ability to protect the public from cancer." The Trump White House has packed the Environmental Protection Agency's top echelons with free-market fundamentalists who've set about "freeing" chemical companies from regulations designed to limit the presence of cancer-causing chemicals in our nation's air, water, and soil. These appointees, Lerner's reporting documents, are working hand in glove with chemical manufacturers, which have spent $1.4 billion on lobbying over the past dozen years.

Bill Johnson likes this kind of murder. Family planning is a moral hazard to him though.

Industry is always quick to tout the cost of Federal regulation. But they never mention the cost of deregulation. How many cases of cancer does it take to cost a trillion dollars?

True fact, before Trump no one got cancer and life expectancy was infinite.

"If the California legislation becomes law, America's corporations may finally begin paying a price for continuing that excess."

Cali has one of the most polluted cities in the world outside of China. So you are saying that all of the legislation was fine but now that Trump is in office, anything Cali does is enough and whatever Trump does is bad. This is just an example of bad legislation taking over already bad legislation, nothing more.

"In a draft letter posted online late last month, the 41-member EPA Science Advisory Board, which is made up largely of Trump administration appointees, said the revised definition rule "decreases protection for our Nation's waters and does not support the objective of restoring and maintaining 'the chemical, physical and biological integrity' of these waters." The letter is signed by the board's chair, Michael Honeycutt."
