The U.S. military dropped a record-breaking number of bombs on Afghanistan in 2019, the Air Force announced Tuesday, drawing criticism from observers who wondered what purpose the continued barrage of the war-torn country after over 18 years of war could serve.

"Isn't this an admission of colossal failure?"

And of frustration, born out of a realization of being completely outsmarted.

"Who are we bombing? Why? What will it yield but more war?"

There was a couple hundred billion added to the DoD budget over the past few years.

The money isn't going to spend itself.

The history of the world's biggest munitions manufacturer gotta munition. Can't have all that unused stock pile laying around. Storage is expensive. Gotta make way for new inventory. Bombs away!

I mean, at least Trump is catering to his base while doing stupid things. Obama just lied about his drone strategy stupidity and for some reason Libs just believed him for no reason. Obama went AGAINST his base and they still loved him for it. So, that is improvement. Maybe the next POTUS will tell his base the truth AND he/she will have a better strategy. Baby steps.

Testing... Testing... Testing..."

New weapons need testing somewhere. Iraq and Syria are now out of the picture, after Trump's "in the character" betrayals of any and all "transactionally temporary" allies involved - some didn't even help during WWII, so there. Afghanistan is still "live" so... sorry poppy fields.

Obama didn't go against his base. What happened was his base was as convinced by the rightwingnut spin that Obama was a Muslim peacefreak who would be soft of national security and terrorism. The myth was inspired by his stancer on the Iraq war. I kid you not. Obama never once in all his campaigning gave any indication that he wasn't going to kick some @$$ while in office. The showdown with McClown over going after bin Laden in Pakistan was a prime example. I think the whole world was fooled by the right wingnut spin on Obama they gave him the Nobel prize. If you liste3n to his speech nowhere in it does he indicate that he placed peace above all else.

The "constituents" who felt betrayed Obama were not paying attention to what he said on the campaign trail. They were too through with the warmongering disgrace of Bushling they went for the okie doke of right-wing propaganda put down the bongs crawled out of the bean bag chairs and humiliated McClown.

Rightytighties are responsible for Obama being elected the first time.

I know the right is still mad at Obama... how's that ACA repeal and replace going for you? Hillary is spending time with her grandchildren and writing books. Obama has moved on.. I htink you should too.

Terrain denial.

It's how you drop bombs when you want to seem angry, but don't actually want to hurt anyone.

"Thanks. Sincerely, Raytheon Shareholders."

They don't produce the munitions typically used in Afghanistan. Boeing, yes. And they can certainly use the money right now.
