Both Gordon Sondland and Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman made the choice to uphold their oath to the Constitution.

Pres Trump fired Amb Sondland and transferred Lt. Col. Vindman because they chose loyalty to the Constitution instead of to a man.

Pres Trump has shown time and time again that those in his administration must be loyal, and obsequiously servile, to him.

And not the Constitution.

Pay for what?

Do they need to pay for upholding their oath to the Constitution?

- or -

Do they need to pay for not holding absolute and unwavering loyalty to Pres Trump?

Trump Fires Gordon Sondland

If Sondland had any ba... he would announce that he will be contributing $1M to the democratic nominee; whoever he/she is.

One of the things that I don't get about the people Trump has kicked in the a.. is why they don't strike back. Republican senators/reps etc. that have been bad mouthed by Trump should announce their intention to run as an independent. I am sure they would likely siphon enough votes from the republican candidate to ensure a democratic win.

All they need to do if follow Justin Amash's lead.

Lt. Col. Alex Vindmanis fired from a possession in the State Department and forced into retirement from active duty. He got the job because he is Ukrainian. Damn, I should be so lucky to retire with a 60K retirement with medical benes. He isn't got criminal charges facing him or a civil suit. Technically is guilty of Sedition, a serious charge in the UCMJ, which is why he is reasonably silent now and not fighting his retirement. Basically from what I heard from his testimony, he had no direct knowledge or witnessed anything illegal, he reported gossip without verification. He should have investigated, otherwise what he did was sedition. Specifically, spreading a rumor.

It seems, based on the testimony that each man gave, it is far more likely that they were fired due to making assumptions...and acting on those assumptions without seeking verification from their superiors. That is most assuredly not the correct mindset for people dealing with foreign relations. Both of those constitute serious breaches of trust. If you can't trust the people working for and speaking for you, then you replace them with people whose judgement you do trust. It's as simple as that.

The Senate should have let him testify? He did in the House, stupid. Nobody on the Shiff show asked for him during the Senate phase. Great argument! LOL

Christ, where was that quid in the impeachment articles, you idiot?/i>

The Abuse of Power, dummy.

Using tax dollars and Congressionally approved aid to extort election interference from a foreign government is the QpQ.

You girls are easier than they are at a nickel whorehouse.

It's funny how Wisgod doesn't believe Sondland, when it was Sondland who said "No quid pro quo of any kind."

So you want a government of sycophants. - #97 | Posted by jpw at 2020-02-09 12:20 PM
How pathetic is your life that the only people you trust are sycophants? You should really cut back on the projection, though.

"He admitted he was presuming everything instead of providing facts."
Well in that case, the Senate should have let him testify to exactly that, and impeachment would not be such a sham trial.

Why would he need to waste time by saying the same thing under oath again? He was one of the 17 witnesses whose testimony was presented in the impeachment trial.
