This is what happens to you if you follow the law when prosecuting one of Trump's buddies.... who might turn on Trump if he gets a long sentence.

Vlad must be proud of how Crony Comrade Trump is strong arming his way past the law to protect his mafioso.

Liu worked for the transition team of President-elect Donald Trump, and in 2017 became deputy general counsel at the United States Department of the Treasury. In June 2017, President Trump nominated Liu to become the next United States Attorney for the District of Columbia. - Wikipedia

She was crooked. The country is better off now that she is gone.

Liu manipulated the DC legal case surrounding the Awan brothers; and how they escaped full accountability, likely due to need to protect politicians. (House of Representatives) The sweetheart plea deal.

Liu manipulated the DC legal case surrounding SSCI Security Director James Wolfe; and how he was allowed to plea only to lying to investigators when the evidence was clear from the outset how he leaked classified information to his journalist concubine. Again, likely due to the need to protect politicians. (SSCI, Senate) The sweetheart plea deal.

Liu manipulated the DC legal case surrounding Obama lawyer Greg Craig; and how he escaped accountability for FARA violations by running out the statute of limitations and burying Mueller's evidence for 18 months. Again, likely due to the need to protect politicians (Obama White House). Sweetheart double standards.

Liu manipulated the DC legal case, a non-filing, surrounding former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe for lying to INSD investigators about his media leaks. Again, likely due to the need to protect the administrative state. Criminal referral (April 19, 2018); grand jury (Approx. July 2018).

Snoofy, You are right.

My mistake. Will do better in the future.

Good sight if you like digging into the nits and grits of what is going on.

Have you been following their LawFare stuff?

I have not; lawyers worry far too much about what the law says and much about what's good and what's bad.

If I wanted to see if a system of arbitrary rules produced a satisfactory outcome, I'd stud religion.

I once knew a lawyer you told me that it is about the law, not justice.

Has stuck with me.

#11 There's a famous exchange between Felix Frankfurter upon being nominated to the Supreme Court, which I am probably not doing justice:

"Do Justice!" someone from the gallery shouted.
Felix shot back "I will do no such thing! I will carry out the law."
