SALT LAKE CITY (AP) " President Donald Trump's $1.5 billion proposal to prop up the country's nuclear fuel industry has emboldened at least one company to take steps toward boosting operations at dormant uranium mines around the West, including outside Grand Canyon National Park. The company, Canada-based Energy Fuels Inc., announced a stock sale late Thursday and said it would use the proceeds for its uranium mining operations in the U.S. West. The Trump administration asked Congress this week for $1.5 billion over 10 years to create a new national stockpile of U.S.-mined uranium, saying that propping up U.S. uranium production in the face of cheaper imports is a matter of vital energy security. Approval is far from certain in a highly partisan Congress.

I'm looking at proven organic farms under 50 acres and under $300K in the southwest USA/Central America. I want out and now. I can pay cash and generate a solid income on something of this nature. Y'all can have this cluster ----.

Not capitalism in the slightest, but I understand how this could be a national security priority.

And I understand how the uranium mining industry needs to pull itself up by its bootstraps if it ever wants to move out of its mom's basement.

I've read here from people claiming to be experts in energy production that nuclear is the best means if energy production.

Far superior to any renewable method.

In fact, the DR experts have informed us that the only way any renewable method could ever be viable is if it's subsidized by e-bil socialists.

Not a word so far from those folks.

Wonder why.

Bailout sounds like socialism to me.

National security doesn't have much to do with pure capitalism. It's a public-private partnerhsip.

The money is always available when we are bailing out big business.

The money is always available when we are talking about going to war.
