More and more of these kinds of excerpts are going to come out for any perceived front-runner, and Cheatolini's campaign just eats them up.

It's like we are trying to lose.

Let me know when a video tape of any Dem candidates shows them bragging about grabbing --- and kissing without consent.

If he secures the nomination this probably won't be a problem for him, but early in the primary it has the potential to be hugely problematic for him.

This caught my attention. I read through it.

This quote was from 2016. It was to students at Oxford University and it was in response to a question.

He was referring to how we farmed 300 years ago. It was a simplistic summation of farming.

Not sure it was the best thing to say but it's now how it's being reported.

It's being blown out of proportion

MSNBC is still trying to make Pete or the Klob a thing. The NY Times, who knows Bloomberg better than just about any national news organization, has already endorsed the Klob and Warren. Not sure what some are upset about though. There's no problem that can't be solved by throwing half a billion dollars at it.

Bloomberg is apparently willing to spend hundreds of millions, maybe even more, to try and win this thing.

It's still early in the primary and Democrats need to take him seriously.

Even in context, his statement was condescending and elitist. You can't fix "I could teach anybody, even people in this room, no offense intended, to be a farmer" by claiming it was out of context.

Having grown up doing simple farming and moving into tech and landing in manufacturing, I certainly get what he was saying and absolutely took no offense. It wasn't elitist at all - unless you are just a tool. Look at who he was addressing and then frankly look at how many of them ever worked with dirt. It's all about the audience. It was a simple explanation of agrarian societies preindustrial revolution to the reality of what is coming. That reality is what are we going to do with all the people? He sees where tech is going. If you didn't follow that...

Bloomberg sees it. And he ABSOLUTELY understands the employment market. That was an amazingly accurate view.

Also, says a lot about the Democratic party.

I think Trump and the GOP are keeping their powder dry until Bernie is the nominee. Whoever the Dem nominee, they will attack him/her as viciously as they can in whatever ways they can. One line of attack against Bernie will revolve around attacking him as a socialist/communist:

Sanders was ridiculously naive about the Soviet Union. The Trump ads write themselves.

www.usatoday.com

I hope Bernie and his team are savvy enough to anticipate these attacks and have prepared/are preparing strategies to counteract them in ways that will help Bernie weather them. Pretending the attacks won't happen is foolish and would amount to political malpractice on Team Bernie's part.

#49 | Posted by Gal_Tuesday at 2020-02-19 06:09 AM | Reply

I wonder why Hillary Clinton didn't hit him with it in 2016.

I wonder why Joe Biden isn't hitting him with it now.

Those with billions of dollars at their disposal, like Tom Steyer or Michael Bloomberg, can't seem to find it either.

His supporters type mean things on the internet seems to be all there is.

Like I said, I hope Team Bernie isn't pretending this is true, because I think he will be the Dem nominee and I very much want him to win in November. As foreshadowing if you want to see what some Republicans are putting out against Bernie, take a gander:
