We had governors in Texas do exactly the same thing. Ma and Pa Ferguson. They made a business out of selling pardons. It was called "Fergusonism"

Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure Texas history books still describe them as criminals. I wonder if that will change now that trump has a new cash cow?

Of course.

Of course that money will go directly into Drumpf's pocket when the campaign pays exorbitant rates for office space in Drumpf Tower or hotel rooms at one of his overpriced resorts.

I doubt this thread will see any of the Cult45 gang.

Trump could receive the "donation" in the form of cash in a wheelbarrow, hoiked across the WH lawn by a convict-petitioner's smarmy relatives delivering to him in full view of the cameras and that would be A-OK with the GOP.

Headline is a lie. Family donated to a PACs, which is completely separate from and independent of Trump's campaign.
And all the usual morons above just eat up the lie, accept it, and can't be bothered with doing any research of their own.

Too conveniently stupid.

In an honest administration, a president doesn't go near pardons for people who increase his personal advantage in any way.

I feel for you. It's difficult when you just have to guess at the nature of honest behavior, isn't it? You actually have to have some common sense and, above all, moral convictions.

Why is it important for you to uphold the fiction Donald Trump is a good man? He's not. You and other Trumpites often brag that he's not.

Give it up. Ridiculous is not a good look for you.

@#9 ... Family donated to a PACs,....

Correct.

... which is completely separate from and independent of Trump's campaign. ...

A statement with little meaning behind it.

Very true. It's more like a "blind trust".

Y'all should see a tax trial some time. There is no Jury. An employee of the IRS is the judge and the prosecution. There is a reason the agents of the IRS now carry guns.

That seems to be the going rate for a pardon. Surprise, that is almost the sum that got Marc Rich a pardon. Equal justice under the law seems to be negotiable if the price is right.

Two hundred grand for a pardon.
Hmmmm....
Is there a bulk-pardon discount rate?
Two hundred grand for one, four seventy-five for two, maybe a freebie tossed on for a baker's dozen?

Piker; this how it's done:

"Clinton's critics alleged that Rich's pardon had been bought, as Denise Rich had given more than $1 million[27] to Clinton's political party (the Democratic Party), including more than $100,000 to the Senate campaign of the president's wife, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and $450,000 to the Clinton Library foundation during Clinton's time in office.[23]"

Trump predominately hangs with folks who pay him 200k a year to join his "club". The next Democrat president should lease a private resort ,and sell weekend access to the paying members of his private club and claim it as a legit business the way Trump has with his properties.
