With three houses, the issue is whether he's willing to give up something he wants to have personally. He is not.

With Bloomberg, the American system is set up so rich people just get richer. Investments are sheltered and earn massive amounts. The rich have access to investment vehicles we simply do not.

With money in politics, we need campaign finance reform.

Every young person says that when they get their first paycheck. As they become more mature they realize government programs we all benefit from cost money and are paid for with taxes.

The taxes I complained about at age 17 when I worked at Safeway helped pay for the student loans I've used to build a prosperous 30-year career in software.

I have been skipping debates because the state of American politics is so disturbing with Trump in the White House and Democrats tearing a hide out of each other all the time.

You caught the best one yet in 2020. I hope the candidates keep up the fire and pointed questions to one another. This debate got testy but without being ridiculous.

I have my absentee ballot, and it had these candidates (and many more) on it, but am waiting a few more weeks to see who else drops before I send it in.

Then how are you making out a few million and a few houses out to be an Ordinary Joe kind of thing? It's a lot.

Every member of Congress has two residences. Bernie Sanders making enough money on a best-selling book to buy an 1,800-foot lake house for $575K doesn't make him a fat cat. It makes him like every other major candidate in our politics today. There's real money in being a celebrity these days.

The people coming up on MSNBC, CNN, and Fox News after each debate are all multi-millionaires. Chris Matthews reportedly makes $5 million a year and he's not even a major star on MSNBC any more.

www.politifact.com

Is that correct?

We looked at the most frequently cited rundown of congressional wealth -- an annual study by the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call.

We found that Sanders' net worth does rank him in the bottom one-fifth of the 100-member chamber. Here's a list showing Sanders and the 18 other senators whose net worth ranked below him for the 2014 calendar year. A negative value means liabilities greater than assets.:

The same people who decide what's fair to tax working people -- our elected representatives in government.

The top federal income tax rate through the 1970s was never lower than 70 percent.

It's 40 percent today. Don't tell me that raising it a little would be unfair to the rich, especially since their effective tax rate is much lower than 40. They have far more tax breaks available to them than we do.

#352 "Some people seem to think that a tweet gives more credibility than a direct quote by some unknown person. That's why they love them."

Maye that's what some people think and how some people feel, but not me. I use the tweets as a way of identifying who wrote the words that follow. To just throw out the quote without that identification would feel like plagiarizing to me. Sometimes I know who the tweeter is (S.E. Cupp), sometimes I don't (Bill Grueskin).

#366 Bernie's problem will be an uphill battle if most voters are happy with the Trump economy come November. Do voters still feel angry and disenfranchised in the Trump economy? #369 Gal,

Bernie's biggest problem is his long-confessed love-affair with Communism/Socialism.

If he's the nominee I don't see how he moves to the middle and he can scream "Denmark" all he wants but in so doing he evokes a debate about an extremely regressive VAT and a market-based economy - which is what Denmark has - to fund their generous welfare state - a market-based system that Sanders seems to oppose.

Bernie is the liberal version of Ron Paul. They are only relevant in the primary process where the voting public is narrowed down to only 1 party and of that party only a fraction participate. The DNC knows Bernie will get absolutely destroyed in the general and tank the party with him. So, they will steal the election from him with some sacrificial lamb - likely Bloomberg - that can keep it a bit closer. After that, Bernie will hand over the crown of the dumbest socialist to AOC and he will retire to live like the 1% he is part of - having accomplished nothing but personal enrichment.

Might as well suggest imprison them and give them lashes.

So, being successful, even obscenely, should be punished.

But the cure you claim is in #309. Our representatives.

So my question is, how did the rich get blamed for their wealth when the cure has been there their entire life?

Maybe we need to penalize the cure first.

Coverage varies, but universally if you want fast access to specialists and a much wider range of them you buy private insurance. Americans have the widest and fastest access to specialists, but also greatly overuse them, burn a lot of money on it, and particularly happy about it.

Generally it's lower quality. Think cattle class on Ryan Air versus First Class on Emirates.

Americans working overseas are typically offered supplemental insurance, which gets them fast and easy access to specialist care that otherwise might be denied by the state. Bernie is working dilligently to ensure that no one has the right to gain access to medical care higher than the quality or quantity of the lowest common denominator.

I like this BS line.

One of my favorites, and now I have personal experience with it.

My daughter is a college athlete, she tore her hip labrum at the end of July 2019.

My health insurance covered what it covered, the university that she cranks long bombs for picked up every related expense that my insurance didn't.

She had surgery on it on January 31.

I hear all the time about how terrible it is for people in Canada.

Some of them have to wait up to 6 months to have a surgery.

My kid only waited 7 or 8 or who even gives a flying fcck really.

Best healthcare system in the whole wide world. Just ask any rttard who has no idea what they are talking about.

That's true.

He can't ban people from going elsewhere to seek quality healthcare. He can only ban people from seeking quality healthcare in the US. If He's elected, of course.

"My kid only waited 7 or 8 or who even gives a flying fcck really."

That's OK. If you're willing to wait seven months to get fixed, that's cool. But why would you want to stop someone from being able to pay to get fixed a week later, if they didn't think it was cool?

Under Bernie, you're going to get the wait whether you want it or not...regardless of how much you're willing to pay. You simply won't be allowed.

#398 | Posted by madbomber at 2020-02-20 04:08 PM | Reply

And I don't think that Bernie is going to ban quality services for everyone.

He learned from the Soviets. Party members always had access to food, cars, TV's material goods, whatever.

It was really only the non-Soviets, or at least the unimportant Soviets, that had to spend hours in line for a loaf of bread or bag or apples.

And so it will be again.

What they mean when they say "you don't have to wait here" or whatever sss sucking horse shht they murmur before slobbering down their shirt is if you have a spare 25 or 30k in cash laying around they can get you right in.

If you're a normal person you can wait longer than the people in the places where the poor bsstards have to wait to have their surgery.

"If you're a normal person you can wait longer than the people in the places where the poor bsstards have to wait to have their surgery."

Correct.

And since doctors would naturally gravitate to patients who were willing to pay more money, it's imperative that their choice to do so be banned. Just like the patient's choice to purchase healthcare (at least in the US) would be banned.

Anybody from the kids in America to the Bernie sanders in America touting the virtues of a 'Medicare for All' healthcare system doesn't know how Medicare actually works. First, Medicare counts on negotiated 'contract' pricing with the healthcare service providers for the various medical needs and services and facilities involved. Second, Medicare then pays 80% of the contracted prices. Third, to avoid bankruptcy the patients MUST carry Medicare supplemental insurance from PRIVATE Insurance carriers (who would no longer exist) to pay the other 20% not paid for by Medicare. Fourth not every doctor and hospital takes Medicare patients because to the contracted prices. Fifth, Medicare does NOT cover every single procedure or medical service done. Who pays for that? Sixth, Medicare DOES NOT pay for prescriptions/drugs - dental needs - vision needs and hearing needs. Who pays for all of those needs?

Sure Bernie and his loyal legion of communist imbeciles expect us to believe that the GOVERNMENT will pay for ALL of the medical, dental, vision, drug, and hearing services (and mental illnesses, too) that Medicare today covers at 80% and doesn't even cover, at all.

Pete Buttiege correctly asks Bernie .. how is all that new cost -- somewhere north of $5 TRILLION/year -- going to be paid for by our government (US) ? AND what happens IF the hospitals and doctors refuse to accept the government's new medicare for all contracted pricing that pays a fraction of what the abolished private sector insurance systems paid them? Where do any of us go for our medical needs??

Bernie and the politicians have an already great healthcare program that I am, sure will NEVER be replaced by his new medicare for all system. It's odd that Bernie and warren and all those commies in Washington are not offering to put ALL Americans in their healthcare system. Wonder why??

"Sixth, Medicare DOES NOT pay for prescriptions/drugs"

Medicare has four parts:
Part A is hospital insurance.
Part B is medical insurance.
Part C Medical Advantage Plans are a private insurance option for covering hospital and medical costs.
Part D covers prescription medications.

Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage (Part D)

Part D of Medicare is an insurance coverage plan for prescription medication. Learn about the costs for Medicare drug coverage.

Eligibility
Prescription drug coverage (Medicare Part D) is available to anyone with Medicare.
