Each summer, thousands of the best and brightest graduates join the workforce. Their well-above-average raw intelligence will have been carefully crafted through years at the world's best universities. After emerging from their selective undergraduate programmes and competitive graduate schools, these new recruits hope that their jobs will give them ample opportunity to put their intellectual gifts to work. But they are in for an unpleasant surprise.

If these "best and brightest" feel unchallenged or unappreciated, they should just move on. If they're that great, someone else should be willing to snap them up. "Problem" solved.

the "dumbing" has been ubiquitous... for 20 years.
the arrival of the www made the 2-way divide, the tribes, obvious:
open/closed
smart/dumb

...you can observe "the dumbing" in most any group.
pointless article. better to make a case for more public education and higher ecucation for all, better oay for teachers, etc.
