Monkees bassist and singer Peter Tork, who played with the group from their earliest days as a made-for-TV band in the Sixites through their recent reunion tours, died Thursday of unknown causes. He was 77. Tork's sister, Anne Thorkelson confirmed the affable musician's death to The Washington Post.

This guy did not age well.

Know it's old news but your comment made me think of Black Oak Arkansas.'Gravel Roads' off of their 'If an angel came to visit, would you make her feel at home?' album. Saw them in the early 70's.

Driving fast on gravel roads
Shakes a new truck to pieces
And life is like the gravel roads
The shaking always increases
Been on a million gravel roads
Carrying a heayload
Gonna turn on my bright lights
For to see through the night

#5 - Speaking of not aging well, have you seen Jim Dandy of Black Oak lately? Sheesh!

Haven't followed them in a long time. In fact, when I wrote #5 it was the first time I'd thought about them at all. Took a little searching to find a current (2013) pic of ol Jim, and you ain't wrong. Lot of hard miles on that chassis.
