Americans should brace for the likelihood that the coronavirus will spread to communities in the United States, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warned Tuesday. "It's not so much of a question of if this will happen in this country anymore but a question of when this will happen," said Dr. Nancy Messonnier, director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.

WHO on Monday: 53 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the U.S.

Trump on Tuesday: "We're really down to probably about 10".

Pathological. Just has to lie even when it serves no purpose.

I have to say, I take this twice as seriously considering our government's leaders are so concerned about the economy during the lead-up to the elections.

It's impossible to prepare the public.

Too many people are unable to handle small amounts of stress.

We have to lie to people because we have taught them to be simple and mindless.

No adversity in life. Everything must have a safe place.

Tell people the truth and there'll be mass panic.

They couldn't handle an election. Never seen such hysteria.

I dont blame govt lying in this case.

Imagine if the truth was known of JFK or 911 or any number of life jarring events.

The coronavirus is the common cold, folks

To a healthy person in their teens through 40's, 50's maybe? Yeah. Many in that segment might not even know they're infected.

But to children, the elderly and those with certain medical issues? Absolutely not true. Ironically, Limbaugh as a chemo recipient and elderly man would be in that most dangerous place.

Just a reminder:

Trump Has Sabotaged America's Coronavirus Response

As it improvises its way through a public health crisis, the United States has never been less prepared for a pandemic.

In 2018, the Trump administration fired the government's entire pandemic response chain of command, including the White House management infrastructure.

Why? I definitely put good governance over banning guns, but with conservatives in charge of the government we all know that good governance is not going to happen.

And, we can do more than one thing at once. At least, liberals can. Simple minded people seem to only be able to focus on one thing, and if you bring up anything else they whine about it and turn to the fallacy of relative privation (go ahead and google it... we all know you don't know what it means).

Trump on coronavirus: Everything is fine. Trump's health officials: It's not.

Shannon Pettypiece 59 mins ago

This week, federal health officials warned Americans to prepare for the coronavirus to become a pandemic, stocks tumbled on fears of just how widespread the virus could get, and the White House sought $2.5 billion from Congress to fight the deadly infection.

But in the telling of President Donald Trump, everything is fine.

The media, he tweeted Wednesday, is "doing everything possible to make the Caronavirus [sic] look as bad as possible, including panicking markets, if possible. Likewise their incompetent Do Nothing Democrat comrades are all talk, no action. USA in great shape!" he said, announcing a 6 p.m. ET press conference addressing the issue.

Completely untrue but they took extreme measures to prevent it from being communicated here in the U.S. I followed it pretty closely, that is a horrible disease which kills a very high percentage of those infected (between 25% - 90% of those infected).

I remember the Ebola scare a few years ago was way overhyped.

Not the least by Trump himself, who panic-tweeted about it over 100 times in the leadup to the 2014 midterms.

The U.S. must immediately stop all flights from EBOLA infected countries or the plague will start and spread inside our "borders." Act fast!

Sep 16, 2014 05:25:09 PM
In order to stop the Ebola outbreak in Africa, perhaps the President should put all Africans on ObamaCare rather than sending the troops!

Oct 2, 2014 05:38:04 PM

Oct 4, 2014 07:05:59 PM

Oct 7, 2014 05:08:22 AM
Despite the ever increasing Ebola disaster, Obama refuses to stop flights from West Africa. It's almost like he's saying F-you to U.S. public

Oct 15, 2014 09:32:04 AM
President Obama has a personal responsibility to visit & embrace all people in the US who contract Ebola!

Oct 17, 2014 05:20:00 PM
Obama just appointed an Ebola Czar with zero experience in the medical area and zero experience in infectious disease control. A TOTAL JOKE!

Oct 23, 2014 10:54:09 PM
President Obama has a major meeting on the N.Y.C. Ebola outbreak, with people flying in from all over the country, but decided to play golf!

I look forward to Trumptards shamelessly accusing people of "politicizing" the coronavirus.

I'm no expert but it'll be...interesting...seeing a pandemic in real time.

Some people seem to think it's gonna wipe out whole towns and cities leaving ghost towns in its wake. Which is crazy. But something that's on par with influenza in many many ways but which is completely novel leaves a lot of room for millions of deaths. There's a good chance that when this is all over and it's an endemic seasonal virus you'll know somebody who died or who lost someone.
