I have been doing some research and it appears that the Coronavirus stories are the typical "sky is falling / wolf at the door" type stories...
Currently there are 81,279 infected with 2,770 deaths. Divide the deaths by the infected to find the death rate.... 81,279/2770 for a death rate of .04%.
South Korea has been hardest hit " the WHO confirmed 602 coronavirus cases and five deaths there on Sunday.
602/5 = South Korean death rate of .009%
Compared to the Spanish Flu 0f 1910's death rate of 1.7%
Compared to Ebola's death rate of a death rate of 90%
Basically Coronavirus is not that deadly. It's actually less deadly than many of he flu strains currently spreading about the planet.
Your fight coronovirus like you fight the flu.... namely stay away from crowds. Wash you hands as much as you can, drink plenty of fluids. Avoid touching your mouth or eyes. Wearing a mask won't protect you from the virus which is much much smaller... the reason for the mask is to remind you NOT to touch your eyes or mouth.... just a reminder.... good for nothing else.

The World Health Organization estimates that 2-3% of those who were infected died (case-fatality ratio). It is estimated that approximately 30 million were killed by the flu, or about 1.7% of the world population died. Other estimates range from 17 to 55 million fatalities.
Ebola virus disease (formerly known as Ebola haemorrhagic fever) is a severe, often fatal illness, with a death rate of up to 90% caused by Ebola virus, a member of the filovirus family. The Ebola virus can cause severe viral haemorrhagic fever (Ebola HF) outbreaks in humans with a case fatality rate of up to 90%.
