Mnuchin's had since January 2017 to demonstrate he's not just another one of Trump's clueless hacks. He's just not up to it.

More happy talk for #Cult45. Gary Cohn just said the county is already in a recession! We knew that before COVID-19 became a thing the country's manufacturing sector was already in a recession.

Already one quarter in. Second quarter will make it official.
Trump owns this recession.

Trump must be sweating bullets. Mr.Putin had such high hopes for a second term.

#8 | Posted by Twinpac at 2020-03-16 03:15 PM | Reply

Wait, what?????? The market isn't going to like that this guy is lying. Too bad they won't be removed until January 2021.

EXPECT is such a vague term... know what I mean?

of course "expect" in cl0wn terms means they can't commit to a positive outcome... but they lack the nads to admit it. If they did they would say "gee wiz I hope the ------ not" but darn those Hillary emails means you never can tell... soooooo...... rather than liiiiiiiiiie... they burnish the turd that is their boss.

Glad everybody is not glossing over the fact that this is TRUMP's Treasury Secretary.

Now we know that whatever he EXPECTS, we can be assured of the exact opposite.

Damn, the Dow just took another 3000 dump.

Trump must be talking.

#13 You were correct.

That moron says no gatherings of 10 or more, just to ignore the CDC recommendation of no gatherings of 50 or more.

Of course that will shut down even more things.

Shht man just now there were so many cars at the local WlsFgo it looked like the beginning of a run on the bank. Probably was just your average low level panic.

Steven Mnuchin is one of the few Trumpers that started with Trump still working for Trump. He has a hand up his rectum and voices only what the puppet master wants him to.

"Treasury Secretary Mnuchin Does Not Expect Recession"

Strange way to sugar-coat a depression...

#16 Mnuchin, while an ass, also has demonstrated actual competence at some point in his life*, unlike most of Trump's remaining bitter clingers.

I mean beyond selling us glyconutrients.

The duration of the pandemic will dictate the economy.

#20 | Posted by JeffJ at 2020-03-16 07:21 PM | Reply

The virus is not the only problem. The market was and is a huge bubble blown up with QE and cheap credit. This is not good. The lows will be lower and everything is losing value.
Trump's gone. Biden is just another corporate tool. Nothing much will change in any real sense except the vaudeville will be less.

The Lollipop Guild will move heaven and earth to delay the recession until after the 'lection.

Ha ha. I fooled them all.

I already spent all my money. before the crash.

Nothing left to lose. Now who's the stable genius?

Not even allowed to think anything else.

No one expected the Spanish Inquisition. I one expected a pandemic.

And no one could have predicted this... well except Obama did.

Do you really think this is going to be short enough to not kill the economy?

I think trump made his first honest statement in days when he said this might last until at least July or August.

Like most viruses, this one seems to hate heat and the sun. Because of this, I predict economic recovery to begin in the southwest and later the south.

I'm looking forward to the beginning of our San Antonio summer season in 4 or so weeks. Last summer was a scorcher and lots of sun. Hopefully this one will be as well!
