Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, March 22, 2020

Governor Andrew Cuomo said New Yorkers should be prepared for widespread business closures and stay-at-home orders to last for months to combat the surge in coronavirus cases. "This is not a short term situation," he said in a Sunday briefing with reporters. "This is not a long weekend. This is not a week." "It is going to be four months, six months, nine months," he continued. Cuomo pointed to modeling from China, which shows that the US is lagging behind being able to curb the rate at which the virus is spreading in hotspots like New York City. "The timeline " nobody can tell you, it depends on how we handle it " but 40%, up to 80% of the population will wind up getting this virus, all we're trying to do is slow the spread," Cuomo said. "But it will spread, it is that contagious."

Fat Andy talking out of his big diseased hind end again.
It must be a day ending in Y. I hope Fat Andy runs out of toilet paper.

THAT is the point he is making.

Is it? Then why not say it?

Why create panic numbers?

why didn't he say April 7th?

See, as Goatman wisely points out, Democrats are throwing out draconian, "bring out your dead", numbers without any idea, just to create panic and divisiveness.

Good luck with that.

#3 must have missed Mattress' headline.

"There are none so blind as those who will not see. The most deluded people are those who choose to ignore what they already know."- John Heywood in 1546.

Some people never learn.

Anyone of moderate intelligence understands that Aborted Monson's post #2 was over the dumbass Mattress' "There is no hope ..." snark on something that's damn serious.

As usual, Yav, you have identified the real problem.

why didn't he say April 7th?

Because there's no way in hell this is over for his state on April 7.

Telling the public things that won't come true is a terrible strategy for a leader to undertake. It erodes trust at a time a leader most needs the public's trust.

Cuomo is leveling with the public about the hard fight ahead. The numbers he's citing are in line with what epidemiologists and other experts are saying.

To claim this is just sowing "panic and divisiveness" is incredibly uninformed.

Cuomo is clearly trying to instill panic.

#16 - I hope so. This is serious and we'd all be a lot better off if Cuomo was in the WH instead of what we have.

#4 Cuomo is being honest about the prospects ahead, not lying about everything like Trump. You must love to be lied to. "This virus will magically disappear on April one, it's a March virus, any time after march it will be totally harmless to everyone and the economy will bloom into the bestest, bigliest, economy ever".
There, there, feel better now? Just keep reading that every time the panic starts to grab you by the throat. You tiresome partisan hack.

Cuomo started off fine then he read his hype and his press conferences have become extremely long auditions...
Same goes for all the politicians. Get on, give us some facts, get the ---- off.
