Whatever happened to those 70 people trapped under the hospital collapse in China? You know, that hospital that was built in 10 days and bragged about by the Chinese government until it fell?

You know, that hospital that was built in 10 days and bragged about by the Chinese government until it fell?

This did not happen.

You may want to change your source of information, it seems to be misleading you.

The hospital that collapsed was not the one built in 10 days.

Coronavirus quarantine hotel collapses in China, trapping 70 people

...Search and rescue efforts are underway after about 70 people were trapped in a hotel collapse Saturday night in southeastern China, officials in the city of Quanzhou said.

The hotel was used as a coronavirus quarantine center, People's Daily and other state media outlets confirmed....

My mistake. A building built in China that the Chinese government selected to quarantine the Chinese people collapsed trapping at least 70 people. What happened to the 70 people trapped?

It was a 5* hotel. They're not being billed for room service.

No problem at all as the hospital administrators can just crap the demanded extra capacity; there, problem solved.

Gonna need more like 500%.

Please maintain minimum safe distance and wash your hands often.
There is no cure and there is no vaccine.
Thank you.

#10. I kept track of the number of times I washed my hands today: 17 and that doesn't count sanitizing various things.

Thank you JeffJ! From the bottom of my heart.

None of us have ever tried to live through something like this before.
This must have been what it was like when polio and what-not was around.
One day you're fine, the next you're not. Nothing can be done. Thoughts and prayers.

The more of us that take containment and ultimately, possibly, eradication of a silent invisible killer seriously, the better!

These both work, from Margaret Mead:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."

"Always remember that you are absolutely unique. Just like everyone else."

We're staying in the house except for a few trips a couple of weeks ago to make sure people we care about have what they'll need Luckily, we stocked up on paper products before this thing hit have plenty of food. The only things we thought we might run short on if we have to keep sequestered for a couple of months (which, I suspect could be necessary) were coffee, filters, and dog food & treats. I've been doing my walks late at night, which is enjoyable.

The thing I've noticed most was how traffic has gone back down to early 90's levels. Very refreshing. It would be awesome if a lot of these companies let employees work from home. The roads would be a lot less crowded, and we'd spend a lot less on new lane construction and maintenance. That's not to mention the increased productivity from employees avoiding an hour or two in their cars sitting in traffic.

No response is a response:

Cuomo Prime Time @CuomoPrimeTime

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo says he's been very clear with the White House about his state's immediate need for 30,000 ventilators and other protective medical equipment and "there has been no response."

Yeah, I've seen Gov Cuomo's press conferences every day for a while now. He is not happy with the level of assistance that New York is receiving from federal agencies.

New York state is considered to be an epicenter of the outbreak in the United States.

Whiners like Andrea would have been dealt with pretty severely during WWII. In those days patriotism wasn't just a word thrown around by right wing liars, it was a way of life.

Quite honestly, Gov. Cuomo has become the defacto leader of this nation. We know we can't get straight answers from Trump or Pence so he is who we get the truth from. I'd say the Democratic Party should draft him for the Presidency, sorry Biden but we need a real leader right now.

Newsom seems to be doing well too.
This crisis is every Governor's audition for the big chair.
Our next-ish President will be a Governor whose state did better than average on this.

New York Gov. @andrewcuomo to federal leaders: "You pick the 26,000 people who are going to die unless you send more ventilators!" Wow. #COVID19

The news media and the administration treats us like frightened children who can't handle the truth. Gov. Cuomo treats us like adults who demand the truth and won't accept platitudes.

I watched as much as I could stand this morning of Trump talking to the press. He rambled like a drunk, repeated himself over and over but said very little.

I don't know her name but the woman who has to stand there as this clown droned on and on, I felt very sorry for her.
