Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, March 23, 2020

Senator Amy Klobuchar's statement concerning her husband testing positive for COVID: John started to feel sick when I was in Minnesota and he was in Washington D.C. and like so many others who have had the disease, he thought it was just a cold. Yet he immediately quarantined himself just in case and stopped going to his job teaching in Baltimore. He kept having a temperature and a bad, bad cough and when he started coughing up blood he got a test and a chest X-ray and they checked him into a hospital in Virginia because of a variety of things including very low oxygen levels which haven't really improved. He now has pneumonia and is on oxygen but not a ventilator.

No it is no fooling around. Similar case here in Michigan toward the end of last week. The father of young woman we know. Pretty much the same story except they wouldn't even test him due to a shortage of tests. He still isn't tested and not on the official infected list but it's a pretty good chance he has it...

What they are doing is testing for every other strain of flu. If they all come back as negative and someone has to be admitted to the hospital the hospital makes a request for the patient to be tested and then the CDC makes the call.

I know this because a good friend who lives behind me had to go to the hospital for a couple of days. She and her husband have it by process of elimination due to other flu testing and symptoms. The hospital treated her as if she had pneumonia.

Somehow, at least so far, their younger daughter has avoided getting sick, or at least she hasn't shown any symptoms. This has been on-going for a couple of weeks now. Their older daughter is staying in East Lansing (for obvious reasons) even though classes are all online for the time being.

We have come a long way since three weeks ago when Humpy declared
that the country had only 15 infections suggested the number would be down to zero (which is a very good "number"
zero) before long.

"[W]hen you have 15 people, and the 15 within a couple of days is going to be down to close to zero, that's a pretty good job we've done."

Yup.

Pretty good job Humpy!

Only 50,000 infections today. That's close to zero. Right?
