Gary Vura has been wiping down counters and cooking for himself in his Carnegie Hill apartment since his wife and daughters decamped for his sister-in-law's house in Massachusetts. "I haven't quite figured out how to use the vacuum cleaner yet, but that should happen," said Vura, ....

"I'm probably doing more of that than I used to. ...

At Jeeves New York on East 65th Street, its laundering and dry cleaning business is down 77% as clients have fled ....

Still, the store picked up 10 bags of bed sheets Monday it normally wouldn't have. "Because their house staff isn't coming in, they don't know what to do with their sheets," said the owner. The service, which includes quarantining the laundry for 24 hours, isn't cheap: $42 a sheet, $85 for a duvet cover and as much as $16 for pillow cases. ...

"It is exorbitant, but the types of sheets that we're getting -- you're looking at $3,000-$4,000 for set," Pozniak said. "A lot of places do it on automated machinery. ..."

Sheets that cost more than my mattress? I thought I over spent on that. Clearly I have some research to do on getting a good nights sleep.

@#3 ... Sheets that cost more than my mattress? ...

You noticed that also...

Good thing the Trump Tax Cut transferred even more wealth to these folk. They were going broke buying their bed sheets...

If you can't do laundry or run a vac you are incredibly stupid. My wash machine literally has buttons on it that has each cycle labeled. Plus who on earth needs a 4k sheet set. You are just wasting money at that point.

I can see the "can't do laundry" part --- maybe there is not a washer and dryer in the place.

But vacuuming? I mean, really.

You plug it in, turn it on and push.

What's not to know about that?

Ask my oldest son who manages to kill vacuum cleaners like you wouldn't believe. It's called not picking up before you vacuum.

I finally got a Dyson and he even managed to mess that one up. Fortunately since it's a Dyson my youngest son was able to fix it good as new.

How in the hell do you screw up a Dyson??

Not picking up things off the floor, belt gets knocked off. Worst part is it makes a horrendous sound before it comes off that if you stop it and investigate the problem you can prevent the belt coming off. He would just run it over everything and ignore the noise.

When he killed the Dyson I started looking at a beltless one but my other son fixed it and then he finally moved out so now he can kill his own vacuums.

He needs one of those antique ones without a motor. You can't kill those things.
