Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, April 01, 2020

The number of coronavirus cases in the United States surpassed 200,000 on Wednesday as officials warned spikes in confirmed cases may soon be seen outside of large city centers. ... More than 4,400 people have died from the virus nationwide. ... [New York Gov. Andrew] Cuomo said the best way to reverse the current isolation policies that have brought the US economy to a halt and left the majority of Americans virtually homebound is to increase the frequency and availability of tests. He likened the current situation to a "bad groundhog movie". "You come up with testing and rapid testing, not only do you get the economy running, you end the anxiety. The anxiety is what is most oppressive here. Not knowing," he said.

Yeah, but think of what good TV the press briefings are making:

President Trump believes many Americans are "enjoying" tuning into White House coronavirus press briefings.

President Donald Trump said during Tuesday's White House press briefing that despite the coronavirus being a "dark topic," Americans seem to be "enjoying it."

"I'm sure people are enjoying it," the president said, after telling reporters he would take one more question. "I will say this: It's an incredibly dark topic, an incredibly horrible topic, and it's incredibly interesting. That's why everybody is going crazy, they're going crazy, they can't get enough of it."

Trump went on to say that "a lot of people have it," referring to the virus, "and they hope for the best."

"Because when this gets the wrong person," he said. "Meaning a person that qualifies, generally speaking, under the list, it is ravaging. It is horrible."

#8 wouldn't surprise me given how few tests have been run. Heck here they have said for almost 2 weeks if you have signs stay at home don't bother going for a test and unless it gets critical you won't get a test. I know of several who have self quarantined and have very Covfefe-19 like symptoms but have not been tested. So far none of them have gotten sick enough to seek medical treatment so we will probably never know.

Now that we have a 5 min test it would be awesome if we could just test ourselves before leaving the house each morning. We could get the economy back near 100 percent in 2 weeks if that were a reality.

I am going to try to continue with an idea from an earlier post. It was to be kind. All the time. Even when we don't want to be kind.
Make Kindness our new mantra, but, all of the time, even when we are angry, frightened, whatever.
We become the loving kind parents of those around us and we help them emotionally which is important. And it gives some of old farts something to do and to feel good about.
If we all realized one salient idea, the lost souls in our world, at least a large number of them, are actually just still looking for their non-existent parents.
Gee, why. Sometimes I criticize myself for the thing that I didn't prevent my son/daughter from doing while young and thus screwed up their lives...But then, I remember, they're all actually employed in career type jobs, they're fine!
We've been through unhappiness, as a family, and we all recognize happiness is something we should embrace but also something that is not necessary for us to be ok.
Being OK is probably the most important lesson of any of our lives.
Do it!

Will we all live in a better world when we do that? Yes.
