Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, April 02, 2020

Don't focus on the 200,000 people the coronavirus might kill in the U.S., think about the 2 million people President Donald Trump is saving. Even as Trump adopts a somber, get-ready-for-the-worst tone, he still has sought to portray himself as a hero for his actions thus far, batting away questions about whether he has adequately responded to the coronavirus outbreak.

It's going to be better for the United States if Trump is among the COVID-19 dead. We can place his body in a refrigerated truck with all the others and then, sometime next year, his family can come collect his remains for some private, untelevised, ceremony.

'This is like (Trump) saying "I got up this morning and I didn't start a nuclear war, and I saved 5 billion people." '

If you ever wanted to know how the human mind behaves without a soul, this is it.

If two-million people die from COVID-19, Donald will credit himself for saving 228 million.

This isn't going to work. The die was cast months ago and Trump (America) rolled snake eyes.

America is going to have the worse outcome of every major country dealing with this pandemic and the comparison charts already show our growth curve is steeper than even Italy's. The only hope of lessening the amounts of deaths has been the emergence of cytokine storm observations and treatments which have shown that already existent drugs might be effective in keeping infected bodies from attacking themselves - the very end of life conditions for acute respiratory failure patients.

The lack of a nationally coordinated stay at home effort that should have started weeks ago guarantees that the virus will continue to spread and will certainly hit now quiet areas with force in a matter of days and weeks.

Trump keeps touting the best-case scenarios without enforcing the very best-case practices that would lead to those lesser results. His bragging has finally found a foe that his blusterous mouth cannot defeat. Unfortunately, it's going to cost untold thousands, likely more than a million lives. When scores of his base start dying, their collective tune is going to change.

Completely right, TONY. But the man won't stop bragging, will he?

Republicl0wns often make psychic predictions from alternate realities. How many times... right here in this forum do they tell us what liberals think? They are mind readers. They tell us what we are afraid of, they tell us what rich people are afraid of. They know all see all.

I spoke with my parents early in the week and my mother was pissed that the county public health department wouldn't say what towns had the few confirmed cases in their rural southern WNY county. That it would make her feel so much better to know where it is.

I said that's because they don't want people in towns without infections acting as if everything is normal.

She then went on to say that somebody in town, from their church, had just died from it.

To say I face palmed is an understatement.

This isn't going to work. ... America is going to have the worse outcome of every major country dealing with this pandemic....

As if on cue;

The grim death-toll projections the White House offered Monday have already been revised upward

Late Wednesday night, the IHME released revised estimates, based on new data. During the first wave of the epidemic, its model projects, the death toll will be 93,765 - an increase of 14 percent from its model the previous day. That's just the first wave, looking at the number of deaths through July.

We've gone from:

"We have it totally under control. It's one person coming in from China, and we have it under control. It's going to be just fine."

"We have very little problem in this country at this moment " five. And those people are all recuperating successfully."

to saying that 100,000 to 240,000 dead is a win.

And 35-45% of the country will actually believe this.

The numbers of dead that go up every day on the right side of the screen in every news channel is the death knell for the freak show that we have had to endure for the last 3 and a half years.

Thank gawd it is almost over.

Hurry November!

Absolutely. But look at this----

By Lauren Egan (04/01/2020)

WASHINGTON " President Donald Trump's re-election campaign urged surrogates in a call Wednesday to capitalize on the coronavirus pandemic to attack his rival Joe Biden and other Democrats as "the opposition" in Trump's war against the outbreak, according to a person who participated in the call.

"This is the bottom line: President Trump is leading the nation in this war against the coronavirus, and Joe Biden, the Democrats and the media have decided to be the opposition in that war,"

If anybody thought Trump wasn't going to go Big Lying Dog Scorched Earth on this, here you are.

Trump is trying to save lives, while Democrats are trying to snuff lives in the womb.

Deplorables

Absolutely incredible how within just one week, Trump and his supporters have gone straight from "this is all overblown" and "this is all under control" to "thank goodness only a couple of hundred thousand will die".

Anyone noticed how Trump's response has made us more polarized?

I think its too little too late for Trump.

More people are getting sick. More people are dying. More people are losing their jobs. More people are running out of money.

They always blame the man in charge.

As things get worse, no amount of blame shifting or lying is going to stop people from getting sick, losing their jobs, losing all their money, and/or dying.

Trump only has once chance to win in November and look for him to do it: Use Coronavirus to commit the most wide spread voter suppression in history.

Just keep posting stories about young white people that Trumps incompetence killed.

Trump victims.

The lying never stops. This is what "great" looks like, right?

It's a pandemic that could have been stopped before it reached America or could at least have been kept to subpandemic levels.

Every death is a failure of trumps.

This is the bottom line: President Trump is leading the nation in this war against the coronavirus,

Leading from behind.
