In the three weeks since declaring the novel coronavirus outbreak a national emergency, President Donald Trump has delivered a dizzying array of rhetorical contortions, sowed confusion and repeatedly sought to cast blame on others.

This isn't much different than Bush2 denying responsibility for being caught unawares by 9/11. Records demonstrated that he had been warned. He chased a guy off the golf course. Clinton had briefed him. He tossed in all in the trash. Its a matter of public record that he did that.

Its what happens when you put silver-spooner frat fu@ks in charge because they talk tough.

Any adult who has actually worked in the real world already knows that the "Lessons Learned" documents come AFTER the freaking issue is over. I'm all for oversight committee's like Pelosi is wanting, even if there is already oversight. I'm all for keeping everything documented and making improvements once the task at hand is over. But right now, the task at hand is saving lives. Partyism is just another form of discrimination that people are using to take us back to the pre-1900s.

"Records demonstrated that he had been warned. "

This is the short-sighted problem that Americans have. The President is made aware of many possible attacks and threats to our nation on a constant basis. What Dems are essentially saying is that once any threat comes up, we should take immediate action without doing any research or waiting. So, the next time someone says they are going to attack America, the Dems are implying we should bomb them all because, hey, there was a warning. The next time there is a bomb threat at a school, we should kill everyone within a 500 mile radius because, hey, there was a warning. The next time one person gets an unknown virus somewhere in the world, the President should immediately enforce martial law and force everyone to quarantine for some time because, hey, there was a warning.

This is pure partyism. Dems want to segregate Reps from society. I assume they also want to send children of Reps to segregated schools, make Reps sit at the back of every bus, etc. Now I can't wait for Reps to do the same things Dems are doing today...and they will...and then Dems just start calling them bigots. It is going to happen without regard for objectivity and seeing themselves as the same thing.

Idiot.

We had the damn research. We knew how bad this would be.

All of our science was screaming about this in January and February.

And Trump ------- ignored it.

We sent tons of needed medical equipment to China and then shut down air travel to China like it would solve the issue.

Every scientist said banning travel to China wasn't enough. Trump said "We have 15 cases and it will be 0 soon. Like Magic."

We refused to seriously engage in getting testing going until March or forcing companies to prepare medical supplies at all for most items.

We are STILL shipping medical equipment overseas that we desperately need at home.

We have an entire organization that monitors terrorist organizations abroad and a system of screening here at home because of 9-11.

We HAD an organization monitoring viruses in Asia and preparing us at home in case of an outbreak and Trump shut them down.

We didn't eliminate the CIA's counter-terrorism units or eliminate screening at air ports because 9-11 happened over ten years ago. Why did we do that when Swine Flu was less than 10 years old?

Jesus Christ, we spend $100's of billions on army bases around the world in areas where conflicts haven't happened in over 50 years but a couple million dollars to be prepared for something that happened less than 10 years ago is too much?

Coronavirus is literally like Al Qaeda telling us they are going to ram planes into the Twin Towers, sending us a list of names of the people training here in the US to do it, giving us the dates they plan on doing it, and Trump ignoring it until after the first plane hits.

Here's the problem with America:
Republicans elect people who think they know it all and refuse to listen to anyone else. You elect idiots just like yourself. And we all get screwed for it.

And if you think I'm wrong, ask the South Koreans who took this seriously from Day 1. No mass unemployment. No shut down. No massive cases or deaths. No overwhelming of hospitals. No Bail Out equal to 10% of their GDP for just Round 1.

Humtake, you and people like you are the problem.

The whole world knew that too. Ya see that is the problem with republicl0wns... you are in denial about who is screwing you. It's easier for you to go after the targets that are generally poor and less able to defend themselves... as you suck up to the rich who are robbing you blind. All joking aside, I never imagined that in my lifetime we would have a President who had the exact opposite mind-set of Harry S Truman. We actually have a person in the White House who does not believe he is ever responsible for anything ever that does not go well, and that he can claim credit for everything, no matter how unrelated to him, that does go well. Trump is a true piece of work. Shameful. Yet right wingers are willing to die for him. I don't get it.

Oh puhlease Bruceaz. Clinton killed those people at Waco. There was no reason it had to go down like it did. Janet Reno showed her ass and so did Bill. They could have nabbed David Koresh anytime that they wanted with his many trips intn town and then dealt with the compound after he was in custody. They tried to use him as an example but the only thing they wound up doing was to show how brutal the federal government could be. No different than Bush 41 and Ruby Ridge.

Look, Terry and Tim would have had the next reason.

I am not a young buck. 4 dead in Ohio.
Waco was fuuued up no doubt. But at a certain point it had to be resolved. It didn't happen overnight. And in the end they choose suicide for young and old. Fire is purifying. Jim Jones just didn't have the time.
But oddly enough he had enough poison on hand.

1. Choosing suicide for someone else is called murder.
2. They didn't choose that until tanks started ramming their building.

It sounds like the message Janet Reno sent, and you agree with, is defy the state and whatever happens next is not the state's fault.

Bruce,
It doesn't even matter what Koresh was up to. Koresh isn't supposed to be our public servant.
The Feds started a siege and when they realized they couldn't keep it up forever, they decided to roll tanks.
When the Feds roll tanks on a compound the ATF lost four Boy Scouts unsuccessfully trying to storm seven weeks prior -- who knew bullets go through walls, amirite! -- well, if you don't think they're coming to kill you when they roll tanks, you're stupid.

#49 I think you just don't want to believe it.

Waco is what happens when you thought it would work because it worked on Manuel Noriega when he was holed up in the Papal Nuncio.

It was a stupid plan, conceived and carried out with no concern for the innocent civilians who chose to remain with Koresh. That's why it's voluntary manslaughter. This is not even debatable.

It wasn't MOVE stupid, but it was worse, because it wasn't dreamed up by home-town Pennsylvania rednecks, but at the highest operational levels of the same kinder, gentler Federal Government that failed to assassinate Randy Weaver and accidentally hit his wife, and then handed off to a new Administration that feels your pain and then says, ---- it, I guess their siege plan is close enough for government work.

I'm not saying Tim and Terry were right... in fact I'm saying they were wrong and they are terrorists and murderers. But I understand. Much in the way that you seem to understand why Janet Reno had to do what she did. I understand that too. I simply think that when you run a plan where the successful resolution includes burning children to death, maybe the next move is to step down, because you understand why leadership by example is important.
