"all states should be operating under the same guidelines." sounds like he is parroting the Chi-coms party line.

The doctor is struggling with dealing with an orange idiot and needs to quit for his health and go work for New York. But in pushing for stricter controls he is not taking into account vast nearly empty areas of the country, for example Texas where there are still 110 counties with zero cases.

Well, because Trump doesn't want to upset his Base in Florida for one.... I mean, how you gonna shoot gators from home? Or ride around in your 1980's pick-em up truck with the Rebel flags flying? And Walmart-based dating is out of the question.

Dr. Ho was on tv tonight saying something that will indeed become UN policy once this pandemic has run its course.

He says that the entire world should be under stay-at-home orders all at once, and this would eliminate the spread of the virus completely in the shortest amount of time, limiting the overall economic damage globally.

Basically except for essential services, the whole world would hit a pause button and we likely could have stopped this thing way earlier and far quicker than it's likely to take now. The virus will keep spreading as people keep interacting and then traveling all over the world.

Again, I believe the UN will take this up and try to get nations on board before the next threat comes along. It would have been nice if the US had led this effort but that's not happening with this administration.

And likely everyone but the US will sign on.

Doesn't Fauci realize the virus will soon go away and everyone will be back to work by Easter?

When you look at who is not isolating it is red states who have the undying love for business above human life.

Don't worry. Kenneth Copeland prayed the COVID away on tee vee last weekend....just waiting for Gawd to get around to answering the prayer.

These orders are generally only limiting social activity. Most orders allow people to go outside and exercise as long as they follow social distancing guidelines.

So, if you're in a nearly empty area then the order should not affect you. Unless you think that BECAUSE you are in a rural area you are safe. So you are ignoring social distancing guidelines.

Urban areas will get hit FIRST. But, it will then sweep through small towns and rural areas as well. Some small towns and rural areas will get lucky and wont get it. But the vast majority will. No one is "safe", but a few will be lucky. Not taking proper precautions because you feel safe because we are early in the outbreak, or because you think that YOU will be in one of the luck towns is irresponsible.

At best the government should suggest behavior such as staying home. We're not the Soviet Union.

And people wonder why the kids thought it was just fine to go to spring break and party in large crowds.

Or why the US' response to the pandemic has been slow and less rigorous than other countries and why our stats are taking us rapidly above and beyond the rest of the world.

America has gotten so fat, greedy and stupid the worst thing you can do is suggest they stop thinking about themselves. Even during a pandemic.

I don't know if the state of Florida was recommending social distancing at that time or not.

Closing down the beaches completely is unnecessary and probably does more harm than good. Put an occupancy limit if individuals don't police their own behavior.

No it is necessary and did far more harm than good.

Florida got one last burst of tourism income but turned returning revelers into COVID presents delivered back to the idiot kid's home states.

So long as you put the economy first you're working against proper public health measures because let's face it, people are NOT going to police themselves. Even under the stay at home orders they're not listening.

Somewhere between total lock down requiring paperwork to go outside for groceries and spring breakers maximizing virus spreading behavior there is a balance. Where I'm at the parks are open because the Governor recognizes outside activity can be beneficial physical and mental health. How much risk would there be letting people use the beaches as long they stayed at a safe distance from each other? It's not about economy as far as I know beaches are free.

Government isn't the problem. You morons putting a moron at the head of government is the problem.

Repubs insisting on doing the opposite of liberals no matter what is the problem. It makes you morons fight to pollute your own homes and spread lethal diseases simply because you see liberals trying to stop these things.

#17 | Posted by visitor_

AS FAR AS YOU KNOW is obviously not very far.

People at beaches pay for parking, gas, food, alcohol, hotels...

And we dont know what "safe distance" really is. A gust of wind could carry the virus far more than 6 feet.

Smart states are shutting everything down. Stupid states are insisting on proving how stupid they are by not listening to those elitist smart people.

#22 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2020-04-04 08:41 PM | Reply

It's not so much about distancing at beaches it has more to do with stopping people from being a person or persons needing rescuing thereby freeing up the hospital and first responders to focus more of their precious time dealing with this deadly virus instead of dealing with some stupid person who gets in trouble at the beach.

In any of the spring break videos can you point out kids socially distancing? You are either wilfully stupid or deliberately so. "how much risk would there be" - we are seeing the damage IN REAL TIME, YOU ------ING FOOL.

"Living in a police state is not really living."

Hey stupid. It's a virus not a matter of police authority. What a total dumb ass Visitor is. Really? What a dope! We're all doing what we can to cooperate with the authorities during a national calamity and this jerk wants to blame it on the police, some of who have already died from Coronavirus because they had to deal with a******s like Visitor.

#29 | Posted by danni at 2020-04-05 11:42 AM | Reply

You'r blaming me for doing something "wrong", I've done nothing wrong. I do the right thing because I want to, I don't want the state ordering me to. We're different that way, some people welcome an authoritarian state controlling their lives, I don't. In Vermont the state is deciding which products you may buy at the store because they've decided it's their duty and right. Do you welcome that? Does that make you feel safer?

#30 | Posted by visitor_ at 2020-04-05 12:42 PM | Reply

In California a life guard boat chased down a lone paddle boarder in the water on an empty beach, did that make us all safer? Do really want to give the state that kind of power?

I learned about OAN news last night. THe new insane news site even more stupid and partisan and supportive of cult leader trump than fox news. Funny how so many of your stupid paranoid arguments parrot the arguments of that site.
