Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, April 04, 2020

A man in Lansing, Illinois, recovering from being sick with coronavirus said he was refused service at the drive-through of a Walgreens. Darnell Turner picked up a prescription Wednesday night and asked if he could buy some Tylenol as well. When asked to park and come into the store, Turner said he had tested positive for coronavirus. The store worker made him go to the back of the line, wouldn't touch his credit card and then made one more refusal. "I said: Look, I have cash. Can I give you cash? She said at that point, 'We won't be able to service you.'"

Always lie about having Corona or you will be shunned and left to die. That's the message here. People will lie about their status if this kind of crap gets widespread. It is not in the public's interest to shun sick people. Laws should be passed to protect them and the general public from this kind of thing.

Oops. Now people won't admit to it.

You'd think pharmacies would be able to help sick people.

Some stores here are now 'card only, no cash'. Not unreasonable.

No, did you gloss over this part of the story?
He was told to go to the end of the line. But since there was a long wait, he went home "

And when he came back to the store

"She told me to read to the numbers off of the card," Turner said. "As I read the number, she stopped and said, Oh, our computer system is down.'"
After waiting for 10 minutes, Turner said he then offered cash.

His 15 minutes of being an ass is over.
