Has anyone asked which specific G-d this guy worships?
Seems like that might be worth looking into.

I suspect that he actually worships mammon...

I suspect that he's an inbred idiot for whom God has reserved a special place in hell... and I don't mean Texas.

There actually IS a Hell, Michigan. And yes, it's been known to freeze over on more than one occasion. But to compensate for that, there is also a Paradise, Michigan.

He's not inbred, anymore than a Jew is subhuman.
He's just a magical thinker, at the wrong time for magical thinking.
He's Deplorable. That's his choice. It's how he decided to live his life and guide his flock. Don't chalk it up to some kind of disability.

Jesus taught people not to tempt God and the example given is jumping from a tall building an expecting God to save you.

This likely Blasphemer deserves what God has ready for him.

Opinions are like.... well, you know.

My guess is that he's got less IQ than butter, and that it's genetic.

Blaming it on "magical thinking" is just more,"Look at me, I'm smart!" talk.

Most all churches are closed down... they must be smart, too.

Religious people are so stupid. Maybe when his Congregation starts to die the fool will wise up. But I kind of doubt it. Darwin's law at work. What a shame for the innocent people this ----- is going to get killed.

Great, I couldn't care less if he kills himself. I care that his parissioners will carry the virus to untold numbers of people who just wanted to buy groceries. Those people who attend that church are ignoring the welfare of their neighbors for a purely political statement, I honestly do not believe they actually believe God commanded then to be there. They are simply liars or possible incredibly stupid. One or the other.

They could broadcast religious services on TV or radio no need to go in person.

That plays hell with offerings.

Reminds me of the scene in Schindler's List where a teenage boy hiding from the Nazis is still wearing his Tzitzit because "it's a commandment" and Schindler (IIRC) has to convince him that it's a death sentence to do so.

"Pastor Says God Has Commanded Him"

If Pastor is actually interpreting the voice in his head as the voice of Gawd, Pastor needs a shrink.

Anyone who is hearing voices of the Gawds in their heads obviously needs a good talking to!

Exactly. The flow of money to those pastors is all important, the mumbo jumbo is secondary.

"The flow of money to those pastors is all important, "

Gawd is not good with money. It loves you but It will send you to burn in pits of eternal fire if you misbehave. And It needs money. Lots and lots of money.

He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money!" George Carlin

I haven't missed mailing my Sunday envelope, every Monday morning, to my church. After all, the church has a postal address and the Post Office is still delivering the mail. Besides, if I had wanted to, I could've signed-up for an automatic weekly, on-line contribution, which they've had in place as an option for about five years now.

Hearing voices in the head is not all that unusual psychologically speaking.... it's hearing voices outside one's head that aren't there that is a sign of schizophrenia.

It's also a sign I left the TV on again.

Indeed, this pastor loves abusing the control he's being allowed. A "flock" of fools.

These folks that believe they are covered in Jesus' blood will prolong this indefinitely.

A physician informed me that this may be the new normal - One or two months per year of intense economic downturn since its very difficult to convince "blessed" folks that they are at risk.

They'll head to the big cities and re-infect the populations and this becomes a cycle.

Yay!

Curious as to how much Pastor Spell's income has taken a hit in the past few weeks?

#25 | Posted by SLBronkowitz at 2020-04-06 11:18 PM | Reply

It is an amazing coincidence to me when every faux-Christian rationalizes a questionable choice with "This is God's will" or "God is telling me to do this," that the act involved coincides with the selfish desires the person already had.
