Trump will contest the results if they go against him, regardless. But no need to give him any excuse more obvious than his own personal needs.

He's been laying that groundwork to challenge the election since 2016.

As I've already stated this morning, the evidence Donald Trump will allow someone else to be president in 2021 is lacking.

"Florida is not in a position, at this time, to conduct an all-mail ballot election this year"

Watch Republicans go all-out to forbid this.

It's April, they have 6+ months to do it. I can be done if they want it to happen.

Absolutely horse manure.

Gov. DeSantis is a good little Trump soldier and will follow orders from headquarters ~~ that is if he ever wants to be a "made" man in the 2021 Trump Crime Syndicate.

(You didn't think that sucking sound you heard was just to get PPEs, did you?)

All voters who have the slightest bit of integrity should make it a point to tell DeSantis and other Republicans around the nation that, Coronavirus or not, we want our election in November and we want mail in ballots. It is not too late at all. I happen to know a bit about printing. We could print all the ballots, envelopes, etc. in less than a week. Then we'd have to mail them to voters. First class mail lands in-state within 3 days. Give the voters a week to vote. Entire process less than a month, at the most 6 weeks.

just request a mail-in ballot, Danni.
Get everyone to do that.

And just how do you think he is going to do that?

It would be a shame if some Russian hackers got the DL database and auto requested mail in ballots for everyone.

It would be a shame if some Russian hackers got the DL database and auto requested mail in ballots for everyone.

This is the biggest reason the GOP doesn't want the mail-in ballot genie to ever leave the bottle.

One of the arguments is going to be whether the states should automatically send ballots to every registered voter in the state instead of making voters proactively request one be sent to them.

Of course, simply sending every voter a ballot doesn't mean they all get returned, but this is the fear Trump and the GOP is trying to articulate: Third parties can get their hands on ballots and turn them in independent of the voter they were intended for. Yet again I can't imagine how any scheme of scale sufficient to turn any election through individual mail-in ballots is even conceptually feasible, but that is their fear.

And mailing in your ballot will negate all the in-person voter suppression tactics (voter ID, under resourced polling places where it takes hours to cast a ballot, travel to distant polls, etc.) that state GOPs have enacted all over America to give their candidates unfair advantages by making voting more difficult for sectors of the electorate they view as opposing them.

And all of this is going to be playing out soon on a tv and internet feed near you. Stay tuned.

Lol... they already did it in the last election in the North Carolina 9th. It is projection. You can always tell what illegal/immoral/unethical things conservatives ARE doing because it will inevitably be what the ACCUSE (without evidence and generally falsely) liberals of doing.

There are already 5 states that have all mail-in elections, and have had for years. There is no indication of the problems the Republicans suggest will happen. Republicans in those states have not been protesting the conduct of the elections, so what's the big issue?

"so what's the big issue?"

Allowing Democrats to vote is the big issue.
Much harder to close a Federal Post Office than a State polling place.
