World leaders pledged on Friday to accelerate work on tests, drugs and vaccines against COVID-19 and to share them around the globe, but the United States did not take part in the launch of the World Health Organization (WHO) initiative.

The U.S. going it alone with our president sounds like a much better plan (sarcasm alert)

The US only cooperates with corrupt dictatorships that loan Trump at least 100 million dollars.

We never joined the League of Nations. We are 1 billion dollars in arrears to the UN. We are the Exceptional Nation. We don't follow, we lead the way to a better future.

Can't teacher the teacher. We know all.
We got the body count to
prove it.

Those other countries are just jealous of our greatness and the freedom and economic opportunity that we represent to all the downtrodden and suffering masses abroad.

How far we've fallen.

In years past we would have been the leader of this sort of effort.

Not any more.

But did you see what the response was from Washington when we declined to participate in this effort:

"Although the United States was not in attendance at the meeting in question, there should be no doubt about our continuing determination to lead on global health matters, including the current COVID crisis."

Trump thinks he can go it alone while at the same time claiming that it's HE who is leading the world.

He thinks he IS the world.

Why is this a surprise?

The world outside of the United States, according to Pres Trump and his supporters, is an evil place.

According to Pres Trump and his supporters, xenophobia is where we should be.

Based upon that, I have to ask, why is this article a headline event?

It is merely stating the obvious.

Only an utter moron wouldn't be eager to work with the WHO and the world at large to solve a pandemic.

Trump's approval has been going downhill. Let's hope there are enough thinking, rational people to throw this moron out of office in November.

Trump will fight like a badger to avoid falling into the clutches of at least 3 State Attorney Generals waiting for Citizen Trump to show up. They've been saving up for it.

And that's the least of his problems. When he has no more influence to peddle, there will be some really nasty people, with no sense of humor, who are still holding his markers.

An aftermath of a Trump misadministration will be fun to watch. I keep thinking of how difficult it will be for him to hide out on a golf course.

I'm not going to blame this all on Trump. Our nation has been in decline since Nixon and every successive Republican President has made it worse. Trump has though, put it on steroids. But we should resist the temptation to pretend all was fine before Trump. Reagan, Bush, Bush all did their damage before him and set up the environment where stealing elections, committing treason, etc. are all fine with Republicans as long as they win. We have to be realistic. The Republican Party did this, Trump is just their most recent insult to democracy. We must rid ourselves of this scourge once and for all. They respect no Constitution, no laws, no sense of right and wrong. We must rid ourselves of this scourge on democracy. Probably, the first order of business should be destroying the right wing propaganda media completely, irreversibly, and permanently. The damage they have done to our nation is undeniable, we should now, as a nation, exact revenge on that party, destroy it as we did the Nazis in Germany. The evilness is not so different and I really just don't care if I sound excessive, look around you, look at what they have done! Wars, recessions, death in the thousands, decline of American power, wealth and influence all over the world.
If you still adhere to their philosophy, which is in total failure, I feel sorry for you but I do not pretend to want to give you exhoneration. You, Republican voters own this.

It's funny how life works.

My life observation has gotten me to this point where I now see Democrats as suppressing Constitutional rights.

BillJohnson, I give you credit for calling them Constitutional rights and not G-d given rights.
But you kinda are ignoring the Constitutional right to abortion, which you've been attacking for 47 years now.
And you've never really taken the time to figure out why prisoners have a Constitutional right to health care, but you don't think you should have a Constitutional right to health care.

But regardless of all that, you're still light-years ahead of many of your Deplorable brothers and sisters, because at least you understand where your rights come from: The government.

"World leaders (not Trump) work together . . . "

That's a good thing, isn't? I mean, why run the risk of Trump's contamination of perfectly good test results?

So long as they pretend to respect the military, pretend to be pro life and pretend to love the constitution, there will always be a good percentage of the voting public that will vote against their own interests to elect these ass clowns.

The wing dings love to post about how bad things are under democratic mayors and governors.

What is Kentuckys rank?

Red states are takers. They like to pretend they aren't.

This report is six years old (2014):

Which States Are Givers and Which Are Takers?

However, this one is up-to-date (last month):

Most & Least Federally Dependent States

And as suspected, 'Red' states get the most in terms of what they get back for every dollar sent to Washington, many as much as 2 and 3 times.

That's because you're an idiot.

Don't deny it, you Googled whether it would be OK to ingest bleach, didn't you?
