The Guardian has an interesting take on this:

www.theguardian.com

For Donald Trump, it was the strangest and most news-making thing he could have done: instead of taking questions from journalists, dominating the nation's airwaves yet again, the US president gave a short pre-written statement and then stalked off the stage.

The abrupt end of Friday night's daily press conference, which has become a ribald, unruly and often shocking ritual in America during the coronavirus pandemic, was probably the clearest sign yet of how badly Trump's bizarre statements over disinfectant have shaken his administration.

Instead of going on the offensive after the world reacted with shock and horror to his Thursday night suggestion that the coronavirus might be treated by injecting disinfectant into a human body, Trump claimed he was being "sarcastic" and then retreated from public view.

It's completely understandable that any medical experts would not want to be seen in public next to him after what he did on Thursday.

Trump sure could use some of your rehabilitationist mojo right now, Dr. Menginel.

...former vice-president Joe Biden, also pitched in. "I can't believe I have to say this, but please don't drink bleach,"

LOL.

#4 you're just jealous of anyone who has any type of mojo right now, Mr. Sandoofsky.

#3, #6 I just wanted you to know read all your comments in a stereotypical Indian accent, like your boy Apu from The Simpsons, and it is quite hilarious.

You know, since that's how you identify.

#7 it's very telling that you project that onto me, like all your other racist views.

I "almost" feel sorry for Trump. He stepped in it real bad. Maybe he won't be laughed out of office. It's really too bad for everyone that he is so woefully small for the job. If he was a more curious or reflective man things might have been different.

What do you mean no medical experts? Trump was there. He keeps telling us he's got a natural ability for this stuff.

Trump doesn't like being laughed at, especially by his homeboys.

BTW, what happened to the report that he was going to punish us by not holding any more briefings?

I was getting ready to send him a "Thank You" card. But then I remembered something my ol' Grandpappy used to say. "Never interrupt a man who is busy making a fool out of himself."

Welcome back Mr. Trump. ~ LOL

In other words, if he just somehow wasn't Donald Trump.

He now says that by NOT holding any more briefings, he's going to punish the "lamestream media" because now no one will be watching cable news since there won't be anything there that people will want to see or hear about, now that HE won't be there every afternoon.

No Trump to kick around anymore.

Trump's only path to redemption. Resign! By doing so, the American people would still see him as an utter failure but would at least appreciate the gesture.

Worst President in the history of the United States! And he had to try hard to push George W. Bush out of that slot.

#16 Bush was more evil. Aggressive war trumps stupid self obsession in the panoply of Evil.

In my view.

The results of stupidity are as evil as those of malice so maybe you are correct Danni.

President Trump on Friday baffled observers while touring the Centers for Disease Control headquarters in Atlanta, where he bragged that he had a predisposition toward science because of his super genius' uncle.

You know my Uncle was a great " he was at MIT,' the president said while standing next to health officials who are working to contain the outbreak of coronavirus.

He taught at MIT for a record number of years. He was a great super genius, Dr. John Trump.'

His nephew, the president, spoke of his purported grasp of science on Friday, saying: I like this stuff. I really get it.

People are surprised that I understand it.

'Every one of these doctors said: "How do you know so much about this?"

Maybe I have a natural ability. Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president.'

Don't kid yourself.

When he loses in November his Article 2 powers disappear and that is when the real kicking around of Donald Jenius Trump will begin.

If there was a Trumpy kicking line I'd get in it. And every kick he gets he will have asked for several times and we have the documents and video. And when he is gone he cannot prevent us from getting more documents. Even the actual transcript of the"perfect phone call" ( that we have never actually seen) and the full Mueller report and more. Hopefully Trump will be kicked around in the court systems for decades to come.

He had a Cheerleader Section instead,
of grown men waving pom poms and shouting
"Dear Leader"!
