Gov. Kevin Stitt sent a letter to President Donald Trump asking him to declare the COVID-19 pandemic an Act of God' so the oil and gas industry can receive aid. Stitt went on Twitter Saturday and shared a letter that he sent Trump. Stitt said he wants Trump to declare the pandemic an Act of God' so that the government can provide aid to help the oil and gas industry and protect the environment.

These whores for the gas and oil industry need to just shut up.

Gov. Kevin "I'm a smart businessman" Stitt doesn't want to spend the state's rainy-day fund, is trying to twist the arm of the Native American nations into paying more from their casino winnings, refuses to increase Medicaid coverage to residents of a state with some of the worst medical care in the US, and thinks having children in school only four days a week will help turn around one of the least-educated state populations in the country. His "Act of God" gambit is as much a sop to the oil and gas interests as it is to the religious voters in Okiehomie. Invoke God around here and all is forgiven...

Isn't EVERYTHING an "act of God" (according to the religulous).

"When economic power desires to be left alone it uses the philosophy of laissez faire to discourage political restraint upon economic freedom.

When it wants to make use of the police power of the state to subdue rebellions and discontent in the ranks of its helots, it justifies the use of political coercion and the resulting suppression of liberties by insisting that peace is more precious than freedom and that its only desire is social peace."

- Reinhold Niebuhr

plural noun: helots
a member of a class of serfs in ancient Sparta, intermediate in status between slaves and citizens.
a serf or slave.

It's why they call it 'god's plan.' Why are so many people upset? This is just god's plan. Deal with it.

Well, I'm waiting to hear how a virus with no evidence of being man-made is not an act of nature, e.g. act of God. I'd love to hear the spin on this one. And why shouldn't the oil companies get some help? Or are Dems so wanting to discriminate that they are willing to let people suffer because of their own bigotry towards those they don't like? Just like with large enterprises, there are millions of people globally who aren't rich that work for them that are being impacted in a bad way. Why do Dems just not care about those people. It's like if you don't work for a small business, you are a maggot who doesn't deserve to live.

"an act of nature, e.g. act of God"

A clever ploy to make sure insurance companies don't have to pay out.

It's their get out jail free card.

Insurance always seems to have an earthquake or " act of god" or "in case of war" clause so they don't have to pay up. They love it when events are declared an "act of god".

Who is God mad at that he/she is taking it out on the whole world?

Who ticked him/her off that bad?

Somebody answer that.

Yeah let's call it that because nothing more loving than a being intent on killing the weak and feeble via painfully drowning in their own pus. That right there makes me want to pray that I spend eternity with an ------- like that.

Well we know Trumplethinskin going to blame someone...

If God takes the rap who will argue?

The insurance companies keep "their" money.

China gets let off the hook plus Ivanka gets to keep her patents so its a win win.

#6: "an act of nature, e.g. act of God" Virus are an "act of nature e.g. an act of life on Earth.
There is no proof of an actual God involved in any of this. A Constitution and a secular government should leave
God out of a decision to send public monies to private/shareholder corporations.
I understand that there is a "Act of God" clause in many insurance policies and such but the God part should be understood to be rhetorical and not a actual legal one.

Hmmm.. Sounds like the Oklahoma Gov. is in the pockets of the insurance industry.

yeah, funny how that "Act of God Clause" only works One-Way...

Insurance Company: It was an Act of God, therefore, we don't have to pay...

Me: Yeah a tree in a storm blew over, crashing into the neighbors fence,
swimming pool, and surrounding deck... Insurance Agent: PAY UP!!!

All part of Capitalism's 'Privatize the Wealth and Socialize the Debt Campaign'...

You want us to explain God to you?

"It's not like it's the first time Gawd opted for a complete do over."

That's true. Silly me.

#6 The bailouts for billionaires are not going to their workers. Those workers are getting laid off if they can't make money.

The US should have followed the lead of sane and compassionate countries and offered to pay a percentage of payroll. Publically traded companies should not have received a penny. Let them sell stock or go bankrupt. A wise investor like Buffet will be happy to buy up the assets and start again. Why bailout the debt kings, just because they give kickbacks to Trump.
