Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Saturday, May 02, 2020

Just this week, we had the first promising report of a drug that appears to improve the recovery time of patients suffering from COVID-19. Hot on the heels of that announcement, a scientific journal has released a paper that describes how the drug interferes with the virus.

Has Trump claimed credit yet?

It is mysterious to me why any thinking person fails to see why Trump is hated.

@#1,2

Sometimes (many times) your comments look worse than those of some of the more extreme right-wing folk who have visited this august forum.

Maybe try to add to the conversation with your comment, and not degrade the message thread.

Just a suggestion...

Lamplighter, have an MRI to check your left hippocampal gyrus for sclerotic formations. You are having more and more trouble understanding sarcasm, which is indicative of mental hippocampal gyrus death.

The company has pledged to donate the 1.5 million doses to hospitals free of charge but has declined to say how much it will charge for remdesivir that it manufactures beginning in June. Some of the donated supply will be distributed internationally.

In the U.S., the federal government will decide where to distribute the donated drug supply, based on epidemiological data showing the cities in most need, Gilead spokesman Chris Ridley said on Friday.

The donation move is no doubt appreciated, but Remdesivir was developed by Gilead with over $30 million in U.S. government funding...

Can't wait to see how the donations are allocated to states

@#4 ... You are having more and more trouble understanding sarcasm ...

Maybe, just perhaps, I do understand what you dub as sarcasm.

Maybe, just perhaps, I can understand the difference between what your comment labels as sarcasm, and what I view as obsessive criticism for the purpose of, well, nothing.

I see nothing, not a thing, worthwhile in the comments I critiqued.

Correct me if I am wrong in that opinion. Please.

Zed is retorting, which is the name and basis of this website. It doesn't require a blog entry to be able to be dissected and analyzed, argued and debated. For instance, a simple "---- Trump" would suffice to many of the topics up for discussion and more could be interpreted by that simple statement than a 500 word tl:dr treatise. Don't take it persoanlly.

I'd suggest leading with, "would you please flesh that out for me" or "could you connect the dots as you see them" instead of calling him worse than a right-wing extremest.

@#8 ... Zed is retorting, ...

Really? I'd say he is farting, fouling up the air around here.

To me it looks as if that alias' comments are little more than a brain-dead gainsaying in order to drag a thread lower.

I've not seen anything resembling brain waves in any of his comments that I've read over the past week.

OK, your turn....

:)

The antidote to defensiveness is to accept responsibility for your role in the situation, even if only for part of the conflict. In healthy relationships, partners don't get defensive when discussing an area of conflict.

Maybe you're experiencing the same thing I am ~ burnt out by the redundancy. There's only so many descriptors we can use to express our fear for America's future in the hands of someone who, to all appearances, has a plethora of mental aberrations.

ZED's #1 & #2 were mild in my opinion. Polite even, comparatively speaking. Had the r-wingers not isolated themselves over on the Nooner, we'd be reading their propagandized lies, ad nauseum. I think ZED, or anybody, is within their rights to take a preemptive swing during this little hiatus.

I'm only suggesting ~ Let's don't criticize each other for trying. Let's don't let Trump's normal become our normal. Take a little vacation if you have to but let's don't ever stop swinging.

Definitely stop swinging. Take a week off. Take a month. Obsession is not healthy. No posts here have effects on anything. Go workout instead. Bake some bread. Master 1 of the 5 mother sauces from French Cuisine. Invent a widget. Spring clean. Make yourself a better human.
