Just days before a high-profile Senate confirmation hearing to fill a vacancy on the prestigious U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, the court's chief judge has opened the door to an inquiry into whether ethical improprieties occurred in the creation of the coveted opening.

Moscow Mitch is acting more and more like Trump is going to lose the election and so he knows that this may be his last chance to 'pack the courts' with young, white, mostly male, hard-line reactionary judges who will finally do what for 75 years Republicans have been unable to do from Capital Hill, and that is dismantle first the 'New Deal' and then everything that Kennedy and Johnson got done, including the Civil Rights movement, Voting Rights, Medicare/Medicaid, separation of church and state, public education, women's rights, etc.

Everything Moscow Mitch does in unethical. Period.

He refused to do his job for an entire year because of his extreme right wing ideology.

He is a cancer on our legislative process.

Hopefully, the Cheif Judge will deny the seat to Moscow Mitch's crony and make sure the investigation will conclude at the end of January 2021, after which time the seat will be vacant and available for President Biden to fill with a youn, gay, black or Hispanic progressive woman. I'm also hoping there is a way they can sanction the retiring judge for this misconduct.

Did anyone suggest Ginsberg should retire so that someone of her own disposition would take her place?

#9 | Posted by Petrous at 2020-05-05 06:11 PM | Reply

If Ginsberg had retired while Obama was President, Moscow Mitch would have never allowed her replacement to have a hearing. He would have claimed that it was unethical because she was only doing it so that Obama could replace her with someone with similar judicial beliefs.

This reminds me how that one political party who seized power in Germany in the 1930s did so by legal means.

Investigate all you want. Ethics mean nothing to the GOP.
